Do you ever feel powerless?
Like you could never clean up their mess?
How can we change the world
If fingers hold tight to their ways, curled?
But you can't give up, you can't let them win
Get up off your ass, it's time to begin
The last generation left us with a mess,
But we, no not us, we're not powerless
Our generation will rule the population
And they will finally be handed a citation
No longer will they be allowed to pollute
Our lungs, our waters, our lives, I'm resolute
Don't ever stop protesting, yelling back
This is our home, and it's under attack
Ask them to work with us, not against
We keep trying to build a wall, put up a fence
But our generations need to come together
Fight through the pollution, the changes in weather
The time is now to take a stand
That's right, everyone, all take a hand
Our voices, every one, need to be heard,
But don't let the division allow you to be lured
Away from the progress that can be made
If, of change, we stop being so afraid
We must change our ways to save our home,
Leave us green pastures in which we can roam.
So let it happen, change is a part of life
Let's change for the better, if even with strife.
Nothing valuable comes easily, or ever will
But we can prevent the next oil spill
With a little hard work and a joining of hands
Let's come together and protect our lands.
