"What are you thinking, Gerard?" His mother yelled at him. They were in his apartment now, Gerards parents having brought him there to have a 'chat', which was just his parents yelling at him "That man is dangerous! He runs a tattoo parlor, for godsake! You shouldn't be around men like that, they're a bad influence!"
"Mom, you don't know anything about him!" Gerard yelled back, unable to take any more of her scolding and lecturing about his own decisions "You don't know him like I do! But if you just listen to me and-"
"Gerard!" His father piped up "Don't yell at your mother!"
"I'm sorry, but it's true." Gerard said a lot quieter than before "I promise, that if you just took a chance to get to know him then you'd understand." It suddenly got deathly quiet. Mikey was standing off to the side in case something happened, and Gerards parents gave eachother a look "Let him celebrate Thanksgiving with us. He doesn't have any other family to celebrate with-"
"We'll think it over." His mother cut him off. Her face showed no concrete emotion, just blank as it always seemed to be. They left without another word, and Gerard took a seat on the couch reating his head in his hands, not knowing what else to do.
"Gerard," Mikey said, sitting on the couch next to him "it's gonna be okay. I mean, it wasn't really that bad after they calmed down a bit!" After this recieved no reaction from Gerard, he spoke up again "At least you still have the flower shop? That's something?"
"They said that they would think it over, Mikey, it doesn't mean I'm off the hook just yet. And what if they change their mind? What if I lose the shop? What if I lose Frank? What then?" Gerard turned to Mikey looking, hoping, for answers. But all he could do was pat him on the back and tell him it would be okay.
After that, Mikey left him there on the couch to think about what would happen, which just led to him worrying and worrying about every possible outcome. Gerard remembered Franks gift and took the box out of his pocket, lifting the lid and holding the necklace right in front of him while running his thumb over the little rose charm. Frank wasn't a monster like they said, he wasn't dangerous, he was a human. And Gerard was his little rose.

Gerard and Frank were laying practically on top of eachother on Franks couch, with Gerard running his hand across the still reddish mark on his cheek that was left there out of pure anger and hatred. He kissed the spot hopefully before asking "What do you think is gonna happen?"Frank looked at him for a while before smiling and kissing his forehead "I think we'll be just fine. You just gotta be patient. And no matter what your parents say, I'll still be here for you."
"But, what if I'm not here. What if my parents drag me off to Florida with them because they don't trust me? Because they don't trust you?" Gerard turned to Frank and stared right into his beautiful, beautiful eyes. He could get lost in those eyes, and he wouldn't mind that at all. He just wanted Frank to be lost with him "I'm scared."
He hadn't realised he was crying until Frank had to wipe away his tears that were trailing down his cheek. Once he did realise, though, he practically fell apart and desperately clung to Frank like his life depended on it. Frank hugged back, trying to be reassuring and helpful and calming, which somehow only made Gerard cry harder "I know, I know." Frank assured him repeatedly, but he didn't know. It felt like his emotions were tearing him apart from the inside out and he couldn't even imagine that anyone would understand how he was feeling, not even Frank. His boyfriend.
Boyfriend. He hadn't really thought of it that much, but Frank was indeed his boyfriend. And people still didn't understand that looks didn't matter, that inked skin didn't matter. His tattooed boyfriend was hugging him. His tattooed boyfriend was comforting him. He was kissing him, and crying with him, and hugging him to try and make everything else go away. He didn't know if it was working, but that wasn't gonna stop him from trying.
Gerard didn't stop crying until his eyes dried up and it felt like he was choking on the very air he breathed. When he finally stopped all Frank could think to do was to kiss him. He kissed him everywhere. On his tear stained cheeks, his small button nose, and, of course, his beautiful lips.
He kissed him until he smiled, which took quite a long time, but by the end of it Gerard was giggling wildly and Frank smiled against his skin. Gerard probably shouldn't have been laughing and Frank shouldn't have either, but in that moment they both felt so hopelessly in love.
Even if neither of them wanted to admit it just yet.
Okay, so I'm sorry that this chapter was a bit shorter than what I usually write, but it's kind of just one of those days. Y'know? But anyway, I really hope you enjoyed this chapter either way. I have some big stuff planned for future chapters, so stay tuned for that!
