Casey POV
I wait for all the guards to leave the hallway. In doing so, I take off my own suit.
You may think of me as an idiot, but I would rather be seen by guards as me, than one of them. I don't want to be roped into a whole other mess that is not my problem, I have my own mess to deal with.
Once the hallway is clear, and I am back into my normal clothes, I run across the hallway, and into the lab. I have Newt's gun with me, just in case.
When I walk through the doors, I am surprised to see Teresa standing there, looking through a microscope. I know I shouldn't be surprised, since she works here, but I still didn't expect to find her.
Teresa looks up at me, her own face a mask of surprise and confusion.
"Give me the cure Teresa." I order, walking towards her.
"Casey, wait I" Teresa starts.
"No! Give me the damn cure!" I cut her off, holding up the gun towards her.
Teresa backs away, towards a stash of vials with blue liquid in it. She picks up one and walks back over to me.
"This isn't going to save Newt. It will slow down the infection, but it won't stop it. There's something else though." Teresa glances back at her microscope. "It's Thomas's blood. There's something about it that I don't understand."
"That's great, but unless his blood can cure Newt, I don't care." I grab the vial and start towards the door.
"That's the thing. I think it can cure him. Come look at this." Teresa beckoned me over to the microscope.
I hesitate, giving her a suspicious look. My curiosity is too strong though, and I walk back over to her. I peer into the microscope, and gasp at what I see.
Thomas's blood is breaking apart the virus. His blood is destroying the flare.
