A few months later...
"You have learnt quickly!" Angel exclaimed as I loomed over another vamp.
"Thanks," I stabbed my stake into the vampires heart. He offered me a hand helping me up. "Anymore who need slaying?" I walked ahead of him brushing the dust off myself.
"A few more south of the city," he said catching me up.
"Are they causing problems?" I inquired.
"Nah, not yet. My name is well known through out this city," he said.
"So you keep telling me, Angel give it a break," I yawned and reloaded my crossbow.
"Don't shoot yourself in the foot," he said.
"I've done that once! But my teacher was terrible," I said turning my head to look at Angel. He glared at me. "Aw did I hurt the big bad vampires feelings?" I pouted. I was suddenly knocked back and thrown against Angel, we both hit a wall. He landed on top of me.
"We'll discuss this later," he wheezed hauling himself off me.
"Sure," I replied sarcastically and pushed myself off the ground. I fired my crossbow, the arrow flew past Angel but grazed his cheek and missed the oncoming blood sucker. Angel turned and looked at me as his wound healed over. "Sorry."
"This is the famous Angel!" The vamp exclaimed, I walked closer to Angel my crossbow reloaded. "Oh and his lap dog."
"Hey!" I snarled and tried to fire the crossbow again but it jammed. "Damn it." The vampire chuckled and punched me throwing me back again. Angel fought him while I steadied my spinning brain.
"Are you okay?" Angel yelled blocking a blow from the vampire..
"Yes," I wheezed. I flicked the stakes from my wrist gauntlets Angel had made me a replica just like his, I charged at the vampire and stabbed them into him. He exploded into dust, I stood panting next to Angel.
"Good work," he clamped a hand onto my shoulder and offered me a smile. "Pay attention to your surroundings, I don't know how many times I need to tell you that. You're not immortal."
"I know, I know," I said.
"Suns almost up," he said and began walking back in the direction of his apartment.
"I don't want to go back," I whined and stayed still on the spot.
"Don't argue with me I'm not turning to dust and you need rest," he said sternly.
"No I don't," I said.
"We leave now," he turned and bared his fangs at me.
"Fine," I crossed my arms over my chest and reluctantly followed behind.
"You'll lose that stubbornness one day," he growled. We reached the apartment I walked into my room but he called me back. "Weapons!" I huffed and walked back into the living room taking off the wrist gauntlets popping the stakes back in. "I swear one day you're going to kill yourself in your sleep."
"Don't jinx it!" I exclaimed and walked to my room.
"Hey less of the attitude," he said, I slammed my door shut and threw myself down onto the bed.
"I miss the diner, at least I didn't have someone bossing me as much as him," I sighed and turned on the tv.
"I heard that," Angel called from the living room.
