The next night Angel wouldn't even talk to me. "We're going to the bar if you wanted to join us?" Doyle asked.
"No it's okay, I wouldn't want to give her another chance to kill me," Angel said sitting back in his office chair.
"I didn't try to kill you I wanted to know if you were human or not, or if the dream I had was real," I replied.
"Still no excuse to put holy water on me," he snarled.
"It was one drop Angel don't be a baby," I said.
"I am not being a baby," he said and walked away.
"Let's go and leave him alone," Doyle said, we left the office and headed to the bar around the corner from the office.
"What's this about holy water?" He asked.
"I had a dream Angel was a human and I had to see if it was true," I replied.
"He must have screamed," Doyle chuckled and pushed a shot towards me.
"I was sure he deafened me," I replied and knocked the shot back.
"If Angel was human, I don't think he would be the person he is now," he said.
"Yes you're right," I replied.
"You're the only human he has been close with. When he almost lost you that time, Cas you didn't see it, but it almost broke him," he said.
"Big bad Angel, no? Are we talking about the same Angel?" I asked.
"Yes we are," he replied. "He's softer than you think, give him some time."
"I would have thought a few months would have been enough," I replied.
"It can take him a while to get used to new people," he said. I rolled my eyes to the bar and rested my head on my hand.
"You know I was in a band once," I replied.
"Oh yeah?" Doyle asked.
"Yeah, then they were all killed by vampires," I said and sadly looked down at my drink.
"You're very grim you know that? " he mocked me. Before we could answer I was approached by a stranger, he was tall, broad, long black hair tied back neatly and well dressed.
"Is this guy bothering you?" He asked, I didn't hear his words I just remembered his piercing stare. I rose out of my seat before I could answer. "I'll take that as a yes."
"Hey, Cas, please tell me you're not that shallow?!" He exclaimed. Doyle walked in front of me but all recognition was gone.
"Who are you? Go away!" I yelled and sunk into the side of the stranger.
"You just wait till I get Angel," he said and stormed out.
"Good luck with that," the stranger said, he took me outside into the ally way and threw my back against the wall. He kissed my neck making me giggle. "You'd make a beautiful queen of darkness," he rested one hand on the otherside of my neck. "I can feel the blood pumping around your veins."
"At least I know I'm alive," I said and broke his grip. I slipped the stake from under my sleeve and stabbed it into his heart. "I'm not that easy," I walked away letting the wind deposit his remains elsewhere.
