Wolf Valley Saga: Coming Home

That night my soul found comfort and peace , I was feeling clean refreshed and my belly was stuffed so as soon as I put my head down on my pillow I was out of it and not one nightmare.

The next day I didn't wake up till the late afternoon.

"You sure was exhausted V and today you can practice on changing back and forth like yesterday but Tomorrow and I hope you don't get offended but it is time for my son to learn to hunt so later this evening we will travel deep into the woods place our clothes and tent and we will spend the rest of this week hunting. I call it wamping which I say, means wolf camping" he starts laughing at his own pun. I joined in laughing it was cute we were going wamping. Sounded more like a kiddie thing but I guess it is because it is how new wolf pups learn how to hunt.His boy wasn't even fifteen yet. 

So as we set down at dinner that night I ask Sam what was the difference and he said"It is all about the wolf lineage as to when they change your women folk don't turn till twenty two our tribes pack changes at sixteen  they are different all over the world .But did you know traveling outside your packs territory puts you in immediate danger because almost all packs have a land law which usually states you can't be on their land for any reason that way it protects their young and food source ,in every pack the males change first"he explains.

"Is Navaeh coming wamping with us?"everyone at the table burst into laughter.

"I see he has been educating you on his word philosophy but yeah I might come if mom will watch the baby it has been forever since I went Wamping" she made air quotes for wamping we all laughed. But then she reaches over and kisses Chase on the cheek. I felt an urge of jealousy  seeing what they all had and knowing I would never have it. But it felt good to be around people that did have it. At that moment I looked down ashamed of my earlier thought and I heard Sams voice in my head"V you will have that and you will be ready for it when you go back home for mating season."

"Mating Season ?"

I look up at him.Chase explains"mating season is a undeniable thing inside us that pulls us back to where we belong so we keep reproducing"

"My pack isn't producing any more Sam"

"Hasn't your pops told you about the  Crescent Moon Legend specific to your packs history one of the females of your pack will come to mate and save the whole pack her and her mate will rule that pack.But the legend states they must make it through trial and tribulations to be seen as one?"he educates me.

"If he did, it was when I was younger and don't remember it Sam."I say trying to recall the stories from long ago and not having any luck.

"Ok bedtime is early little man we start yours and V's training tomorrow."

Alex offers me a high five I high five him."I can't wait to be like my daddy when I get old"Alex says I start laughing Chase interrupts "Old " we all start laughing. That evening I offered to watch the kids while Chase and Nevaeh went to find our wamping spot giving them a child free zone for a few hours. I fell asleep on their couch last time I looked it was 2 in the morning and I couldn't hold my eyes open any longer. The next morning I wake up to some delicious smells wafting through the air. It made my stomach growl. Next thing I know is a small hand prying my eye open so I jump up off the couch and yell"Boo!"Alex was so scared he took off and grabbed Chase by the leg as he was coming from the kitchen. He startled Chase and he almost lost his balance and started laughing.

"Good you are up I was coming to get you breakfast is ready hope you are hungry cause she was in a mood this morning,"he laughs. I get off the couch and walk into the kitchen Navaeh is humming and shaking her booty at the sink.

"You are both in a good mood I see the child freezone did its magic."She turns to look at me and blushes and starts gigling.

"Thank you so much Kendra for last night it was greatly appreciated."Chase walks in and walks up behind her wraps his arms around her and they sway their hips together in rhythm with each other. He kisses his wife on the cheek and smacks her ass before walking to the living room. Minutes later he comes back in holding a diaper at arms length. We start laughing at him as he walks out the back door with it. We sit down at the table to eat breakfast.She had made all the classics and she was one hell of a cook.

"Where did you learn to cook Nevaeh you should have your own restaurant?"

"My mom and grandmother on to many Saturday afternoons cooking for a pack on its own is no joke"She giggles recalling the memory."So do you get to come with us on the wamping?"She shakes her head yes I clap my hands in excitement Alex joins me.Sam walks in and sits down filling his plate up with food.

"You are late this morning Pops what is going on?"Chase asks Sam.

"All the  chitter chatter coming from bidgeport especially the one close to here she don't ever shut up, up crying all night and talking excessively"I snicker and say" that would be Allie only she can figure out how to annoy a Shaman."We all start laughing

"will you please call her so she knows you are alive and well V I would greatly appreciate it maybe I can lay down for a nap as soon as you get done calling her"he yawns. I walk out to my car and grab my phone and take a long walk in the woods.
