"hey, look at the time, make a wish, hurry." I urge Taehyung, as I snuggle up closer to him. my left fist balls up the fabric of his shirt as I close my eyes.

"what, why?" he asks with a curious chuckle.

"hurry, just do it before it changes, I'll explain after." I say quickly, mentally making my wish.

reluctantly, he obliges and makes a silent wish as well.

I peek open my left eye, and watch the neon numbers flicker to 11:12.
I pat Taehyung's shoulder and smile, as I look up at him.

"You've never heard of making a wish at 11:11?" I whisper, in a tone that's quick to accuse him of living under a rock.

"no, maybe its just something people do in your country. how did you even come up with something like that?" he says a bit louder than my whisper, but not loud enough to wake yeontan, who's serenely asleep at the foot of the bed.

"I remember my dad told me when I was a young girl. you make a wish at 11:11 because that's the only time all the numbers are the same. its good luck, i think. there's more history behind it, but it's been so many years, I can't remember it."

he nods, and places a kiss on my head. "so, what did you wish for?" he mutters, his head tilting slightly.

"tae, you know how wishes work. you can't tell anyone, otherwise it won't come true." I laugh.

it falls quiet for a moment, our arms still wrapped tightly around each other.

I thought for a moment, my eyes slowly blinking as I looked around the dark room. the only thing lighting up the room was a small nightlight I begged him to keep on at night.

eventually, I wanted to break the silence.

"taehyung... I remember years ago, I made the very same wish every time I could. I wished under the moon, I wished under the stars. I wished every birthday, and at every 11:11 for the same thing."

I pause.

"well, I'd ask what it was, but as you said it wouldn't come true if you told me," he replies with a small laugh.

"what if I told you it already came true?"

he looks at me curiously.

"I wished for you."
