Henrietta's POV

Unicorns, Ponies, Rainbows, Candy, Cookies, Burnt toast, Flowe-

Wait

I sniff the air. Burnt toast?

My eyes flutter open immediately and I fall off the couch and land ungracefully on my butt.

"Oww" I groan, rubbing the part that hurt while getting to the Kitchen. As I get to the now black and crispy toast, Mum walks in.

"I can't believe it" She sighs "You did it again"

"I'm sorry, Mum" I smile cheekily "I won't let it happen again" I lean in to kiss her cheek

"Sure" She rolls her eyes but still lets me kiss her cheek "Let me prepare the toast"

"No! I'll be late" I grab the burnt toast and rush for my bag "Bye Mamá" I rush out

I walk to my Yamaha YZF-R1 in front of the house and hop on it.
I see Jay rush out of his house and I chuckle.
He sees me and waves before he gets in his Ford Mustang convertible.

I hear my phone buzz and I bring it out to see a message from Jay.
A grin is plastered on my face as I read it.

Race you😜

I smirk before sending a reply

I see that you're not afraid of losing 😌

It's on😏 He replies and starts his engine.

I put my phone away deep into a pocket in my Cargo Pants, and put on my Helmet.
Once I've put it on properly, I zoom out of the house driveway, Jay right beside me.

There was almost no car on the road as I increased my speed, passing Jay and chuckling loudly. He increases his speed too but he still doesn't reach me.

As I turn the corner to School, a car comes straight at me, full speed.

Shit!
My eyes widen as I tighten my hold on the Hand grip and swerve quickly into the School parking lot, trembling.

I park my Bike at my spot under a tree and quickly get down and undo the chin strap on my helmet.
I see Jay rush down to me as I wipe my sweaty palms on my black leather Pants.

"God. Hen, are you alright?" He asks, a look of concern on his face

"The truth?" I ask seriously

"Well yeah" He replies in a 'duhh' tone

I frown "Okay.. Everything happened so quickly and for a moment there I was so sure I was gonna die" shivers

"But immediately after, I felt bad for doubting my super motorcycle skills" I smirk and Jay's look of concern quickly morphs into a look of disgust causing me to giggle

"I'd rather have Geography than listen to you talk about your boring 'super motorcycle skills' all day" He puts air quotes around 'super motorcycle skills' and starts walking away quickly

"What?" I hurry to meet his pace "No you wouldn't" I laugh

"Watch me"

"Hey! You're only going 'cause you have to"

"You know that's a lie" He's right... I do know it.
He's smart enough to miss classes for a hundred days.
I wish I had such grace

sigh

I hurry down to Math class, not even bothering to go to my locker. I had all I needed with me.

"Miss Harrison, you're late again" Mrs. Murphy frowns
