Hvitserk initially wouldn't fall for the idea of being married, especially with a woman that he can barely see behind of all those clothes she's dressing. The wedding night would be a disaster since she doesn't know anything about how to please him and also keeps being scared with each movement of his. In the next day, the only thing capable to calm him down is the feast she prepares for the breakfast and then for the lunch and then, for the dinner since she noticed that when he is well fed, he is almost happy and enlightened.
Six months later he is a happy fat king, with a satisfied wife who finally understood what he wanted with his face under her skirts.

Ivar starts this marriage pretty annoyed with the fear in her eyes that he interprets as rejection. Of course, who would want to marry a crippled, right? The bride is treated pretty more as a personal slave for a while. Starts to fall in love for her when he notices she's meek, delicate and maybe the fear in her eyes comes from the idea that he can possibly hurt her and not from his deformities she doesn't have any problem of care for in the cold nights...
