Deku walked up to the cafe and took his keys out. He already knew he was going to be alone here all day since when none of his coworkers text he is always alone. It was fine though. The door opened and he stepped into the shop. He quickly headed to the kitchen to find tons of pastries. He mentally thanked the cook that was hired and put them in the display. Then he cleaned off the tables and moved onto the library. He went through the shelves making sure all the books were in the right spots. Then he checked if any books were due today. There was one book that was due. The sheet read:
H. Shinso. Due to return book by date: X-XX-XXXX (today) Phone number: XXX-XXX-XXXX (Call if book isn't returned by 3pm) Charge for book: Damaged: 1000 yen Lost: 2,000 yen
Deku sighed. He hoped the book was back by 3pm because he hated calling the people and urging them to come drop the book off. He always felt annoyed because the people would ask for a few more days and Deku would have to say no. Then the people would get mad and scream and Deku hated that. Deku looked at the clock and decided he was going to open the shop now. He walked to the door and put up the open sign. He walked back to the counter and stood behind it on his phone. The door opened and Deku looked up to see Eraserhead and Present Mic. They seemed to be having a small fight. Eraserhead looked like he hadn't slept in weeks and Present Mic was trying hard not to be too loud. Deku quickly turned around and rummaged through his bag. He found a hat and a mirror. He hid his hair under his hat and checked his makeup in the mirror. Then he quickly turned around to find both heroes looking over the menu.
"Hi! Welcome to Zomomo's Can I take your order?" Deku said smiling sweetly. The blond hero smiled back but Eraserhead just sighed.
"I'll have a black coffee." Eraserhead said. He then looked at the blonde.
"Oooo! I think I'll get a caramel vanilla iced coffee! Extra caramel!" Present Mic said excitedly.
"Alright! That will be 700 yen!" Eraserhead handed him the money and Deku started making the drinks. He always found himself at ease while making drinks for people. He had memorized each recipe for each drink on the menu and made each of them perfectly.
~FLASHBACK~
"Hey mommy!" Deku called from the kitchen.
"Yes, Izuku, dear?" Deku walked into the room carrying a cup.
"I made this for you!"
"Oh really?! What is it!" Inko asked. She was filled with joy. She loved her son immensely and never wanted to let go. As she watched her son happily hand her the cup she could help with laughing.
"It's a homemade coffee drink. You look tired lately mommy. I know you spend a lot of time at work but please take care of yourself. OKAY!!" He said giggling. Inko asked herself what she did to deserve this bundle of joy. She took a sip and was taken aback. The coffee was delicious.
"Wow Izu! It was delicious! Thank you so much!" She said laughing at her son's cute face.
~END FLASHBACK~
"Hey kid..." Eraserhead said snapping Deku out of his thoughts. Deku realized he had accidentally stopped making the drink.
"Ha! Sorry!" He said sheepishly and quickly finished making the drinks. Shortly after the 2 heroes left. There was a teenage girl looking at the books and an older man eating a croissant and drinking some tea at the moment. Deku looked around for something to do. He took his phone out and dialled a number.
"Hello! Sandy's Daycare! What can I do for you?" Deku sighed as the happy women answered the phone.
"Hello! It's the greened haired boy who dropped off Eri this morning at 8:30...Deku?"
"Oh! Yes! I remember! What do you need?"
"I was just wondering if she was doing ok. She doesn't normally hang around other kids her age so I'm a bit worried.." That was the understatement of the year. Deku had had a nervous feeling, almost like a rock weighing him down, since when he dropped Eri off. He knew she was in good hands but he couldn't help it. He rarely got attached to people since he lost all his family but Eri was different. He had to protect her. He had to keep her safe.
"She was a bit shy in the beginning but now she is warming up to the boy, Koda. He didn't have many friends when he first arrived either but they seem to be having fun! Would you like to say a few words to her?" Sandy asked.
"Yes.." Deku sighed. He heard some shuffling on the other line and then a sweet voice.
"Aniki?" Eri asked into the phone.
"Yes!" Deku said relieved. "How are you sis?"
"I'm great! The books at the cafe were great but here we get to draw and play around! Can I come again sometime?" Deku laughed.
"Well the days are not over yet but yes we can surely come back. Anyways I've got to get back to work but don't forget!I love you and I will see you soon!" Deku said.
"Okay Aniki!! Love you too!" She said giggling. Deku ended the call and looked around. The old man was leaving.
"Thanks for coming Mr. Fujioka!" Deku called out. The old man turned around and waved before stepping out the door. Deku went to gather his cup and plate. He put them in the sink of the kitchen, sighing as he saw the mess he was going to have to clean up at the end of the day. His attention was snapped back to reality when he heard the door open. The red and white haired boy from a little while ago walked in.
