chapter 20

"tsukishima-san!" she exclaimed, leaving both tsukishima and y/n confused. the both of them stopped in their tracks to talk to the said woman.

he stepped forward, slightly furrowing his eyebrows. "who are you? to be blunt, i don't know you." he replied.

"a-ah, no! you probably don't cause you're too well-known!"

i'm literally not? tsukishima pondered.

"it's just.. i-i want to tell you something later, after school! can you come see me at the rooftop?" she exclaimed, blushing madly.

"sorry, but n—"
"yeah, sure. he'll come see you, later then!" y/n interrupted him while tsukki gave her the wtf look.

"t-thank you!" she exclaimed, running away from y/n and tsukishima.

"what the fuck do you think you're doing, y/n?"
"let her talk, kei."

"you're not that oblivious so you're aware that she'll confess, right?"
"yeah, i know."

"you're also aware that i'm not interested, right?"
"yeah, i'm aware."

"then why'd you say that?" tsukishima asked, annoyed.
"well to be frank with you, it hurts when you get rejected without getting heard out," she replied, stared at tsukishima with a straight face. "listen to what she wants to say then you can do what you want."

tsukishima sighed. "fine, i will."

y/n smiled to herself. she was lost in thoughts when tsukishima spoke.
"are you saying that because you were rejected before?"

"i-idiot! no way! he doesn't even know i like him!" y/n exclaimed making tsukishima laugh.

"you're the idiot here," he flicked y/n's forehead.

LUNCH TIME

"y/n, i-i told you to stop doing that!" yamaguchi exclaimed as he gently removed y/n's hand on his face.

"but there are always crumbs in your cheeks so!" y/n chuckled.

"geez, you two look like a couple," tsukishima said as he continued eating his food. 

 "are you jealous?" y/n smirked, teasing him. 

 "what if I told you I am?" tsukishima teased back, leaving y/n speechless.  

"d-dumbass!" he laughed while y/n proceeded eating her lunch. 

 "hey tsukki, what are you gonna do about that girl you talked about earlier?" yamaguchi whispered, making sure y/n wont hear them. 

 "hear her out then reject her, obviously." 

 "i heard she already has a boyfriend." 

"she does? well that annoys me more now."

classes ended sooner as tsukishima thought. him and yamaguchi had talked about walking home together earlier even before the class ended.

"can you wait?" tsukishima asked him.

"yeah, i'll wait!" yamaguchi smiled, trying his best to tell tsukki that he doesn't mind waiting for him.

"well then, i'm off. later." he waved goodbye to which yamaguchi nodded. "okay."

tsukki made his way to the rooftop, wearing his usual unbothered look. as soon as he arrived, he immediately spotted y/n's classmate. 

y/n better be thankful that i'm doing this because of her, he thought, sighing.

"tsukishima-san, you're here! thank—"

"drop the acting. also, i don't need you pretending to be nice." he furrowed his eyebrows at her.

"oh how'd you know? i'm rio akami by the way," she replied.

"okay got that," tsukishima looked at her with boredom in his eyes. "just get straight to the point please. i hate it when people waste my time."

"i like you. that's the only thing i want to tell you so what do you think about dating me?" she bluntly replied.

"how'd you even like someone you don't know? also, i don't see the point of dating you because i don't like you back,"

"nothing, you just look good, physically that is."

"nice job!" he sarcastically replied, "you just proved you're a total shit yourself." tsukishima looked at her annoyed.

"don't you find me attractive?" she asked, slightly annoyed at his reply.

"the fuck? are you serious? y/n looks way prettier than you, thank you very much."

"can i leave now? i have a study date to attend," tsukishima added, slowly making his way out of the rooftop.  

rio was left shocked, her eyes were twitching. "crap," she mumbled to herself, thinking of another way to win tsukishima's heart.

"things didn't go well, did they?" yamaguchi sighed.

it didn't go well for her but she deserves it for cheating on his boyfriend," tsukishima sighed, shaking his head. 

"plus i like y/n, there's no way i'm replacing her with someone else."
