Herondale's only love once-Kit and Ty

Chapter 5

Magnus had told Kit and Ty to rest a few more days.
A day after Magnus left Ty couldn't sleep, so he went to Kit's room, Livvy floating behind him.
„Kit? Are you awake?", Ty asked.
„Yeah I am.", he said but he couldn't hide his yearning.
„I'm sorry.", Ty simply said.
„No, don't be. Come on, sit.", Kit said and Ty sat on the bed.
„So what is it Ty?"
„I couldn't sleep...", Ty said and then said, voice low and shy, „and I wanted to see you- I mean if you were alright."
Kit felt himself blushing and when he looked at Livvy she couldn't hide her grin.
A brief moment after that, she floated out of the room.
„I am. Are you?", Kit shyly asked.
„Yes. And I wanted to ask you what you did these last three years."
„What do you want to know?"
„Everything."
And so Kit told him about his sister Mina, about Jem and Tessa and how these are now his family.
Then he told Ty about Amelia, and how they'd met and always trained together.
„Is she your girlfriend?", Ty asked, playing with the toy Julian gifted to him.
Kit burst out into laughter, and Ty stared at him for a moment, as If it was the most beautiful thing he ever saw.
„She is not! She is my best friend.", Kit said, still laughing a little.
„Have you had a girlfriend?", Kit now asked Ty.
„No I haven't. My only friend at the Scholomance is Anush. When Livvy visited you three years ago and I fainted he was there and took care of me.", Ty said.
„Is he your boyfriend?", Kit asked and hoped the answer would be no.
„No, he's just a friend. I've never had a girl- or boyfriend."
Kit was relieved and didn't know why.
He couldn't have fallen for Ty again, right?
Now, Ty climbed further onto the bed, until he sat right next to Kit.
„Have you?", Ty asked.
„Well yes... I've had two girlfriends but it didn't work out."
„Why?", Ty wanted to know.
„I guess I didn't love them as I should have.", Kit said calmly and looked at Ty whose gaze was fixed on some point in the room.
His black hair was messy but he still looked beautiful.
Instantly Kit was thrown back in time, when the two of them first met and Kit completely forgot the knife on his throat.
All he could think about was how beautiful Ty was, and over the three years they hadn't seen each other, he'd gotten even more beautiful.
„I don't understand what love is, I've never have.", Ty said.
„Oh Ty, that is fine. Someday you'll know.", Kit said and when he turned around, he saw that Ty was already asleep.
He looks so calm, Kit thought as he grabbed his blanked and gently placed it over Ty's body.
Then he also lay down facing Ty, and just looked him in the face a little while longer, then he turned around and also fell asleep.

Ty slowly opened his eyes the next morning.
As he blinked a few times, he realized where he was and who was sleeping next to him.
He smiled and then realized that their hands were intertwined.
A smile went over his face.
When he looked at the clock, he realized that he could sleep on for a couple of hours, so he did, happy, not knowing why.

Kit was woken by the sunshine that shone through the window of his bedroom.
He remembered what had happened last night vividly.
Ty had come to his room because he wanted to talk, they were friends again, and Kit couldn't be happier.
A shiver went through him, as he noticed they held hands.
How?, he thought, had they done that while they were asleep? Could that be the case?
Kit slowly loosed himself from the touch and got up to throw on an oversize sweater.
As he looked into the mirror, he realized his hair was messy and he had ark circles under his eyes.
After one, long look at Ty, he left his room to go to the bathroom.
There he brushed his teeth, washed his face, showered and tried to tame his hair.
When he got into his room again he saw that Ty was still sleeping.
„Do you want to tell me something?", Livvy said behind him.
„By the angel Livvy! Please don't ever scare me like that again.", he said.
She laughed, „I'm sorry Kit."
„And in fact, no, there isn't. What should I want to tell you."
„Hmmm...let me think, maybe the way you look at my brother?", she shot back, a grin on her face.
He went red, „How do I look at Ty?"
„As If he is a star and outshone everything else in this world. As If he's the only one who matters to you."
„I- I don't look at him like that.", Kit stuttered.
„Don't get me wrong, I think you two are really cute. I've known three years ago, I know now."
„What have you known three years ago?"
„That you had a crush on Ty obviously."
„Well Livvy, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I've never had a crush on him.", he lied.
„Why are you two sleeping in the same bed then?", she asked.
„We talked and he then fell asleep."
„I don't believe you.", she simply said and crossed her arms above her chest.
„Who doesn't believe whom?", Ty said across the room with a sleepy voice.
„It's not important", Kit answered and shot a warning look at Livvy.
„We're going to talk later Mister.", she whispered, so only Kit could hear it.
„I'm starving. Breakfast anyone?", Kit said loudly and Ty nodded and got out of bed.
