I know I'm depressed when I don't make my bed for a week,
I know I'm depressed when I don't wear makeup to work,
I know I'm depressed when I fall into old habits,
I know I'm depressed when I sit in my house in the dark,
I know I'm depressed when I play sad songs on repeat,
I know I'm depressed when I cry myself to sleep over nothing,
I know I'm depressed when I push people away,
I know I'm depressed but I burry it deep inside me to pretend like everything is okay,
I know I'm depressed so I force a fake smile,
I know I'm depressed so I tell my therapist I need a session,
I know,
I know,
I know,
I know I'm depressed when I can't feel happy,
Every sad thought is on repeat playing around in my head,
Stuck on a continuous loop that never seems to end,
I know I'm depressed when I hide it from everyone,
As if not to worry or bother them with my continuous problems,
Not to be the dark storm cloud in their sunny worlds,
Because I am depressed.
