even though the triwizard tournament was in full swing, the quidditch teams had to stay on their best game. for elena, that meant supporting her best friend at her first practice of the year.

since she joined the team, elena and luke have been to every practice and game, dressed in yellow from head to toe, supporting alison. although there wouldn't be many games this year due to the tournament, alison was still excited to get back on her broom.

until she saw who they were practice against.

elena and luke walk into the quidditch arena just in time for alison to stomp away from her team. "you won't believe who we got!" she rolls her eyes, walking up to her two best friends.

"let me guess, ravenclaw?" elena giggles. the ravenclaw team was good, but that wasn't the only reason why alison hated them so much. there was a particular player on their team who got under alison's skin the most.

"I can't stand that blue haired, celery stick looking know it all!" ali crosses her arms and looks over at the team dressed in blue and grey quidditch robes.

"come on, ali," luke says. "michael clifford can't be that bad."

"he's not and that's the problem. he's the best keeper out of all of the teams!" she says, not taking her eyes off of the boy.

michael was laughing with his team, holding his broom upright with one hand and running his fingers through his hair with the other. he shakes his head, letting his hair fall where it pleases. while his head is turned, he sees the three friends watching him from afar. he mischievously smirks at alison, but waves innocently, knowing she'd be ranting about having to play against him in today's practice match.

"ugh." ali rolls her eyes at him and turns back to elena and luke. elena giggles at her friend. "you're so competitive."

cedric diggory, the hufflepuff quidditch team captain, blows his whistle, signaling that the practice match will begin soon.

"i'll see you guys after, yeah?" ali asks.

"yep! good luck." luke smiles.

"yeah, good luck!" elena tells her.

alison smiles and thanks her friends, then jogs back over to her team. elena and luke climb the quidditch stands to the top for the best view.

"i'm surprised you're not hanging out with calum today." luke smirks at her as they sit down on the wooden bench.

elena blushes, looking down at her hands as they play with the ends of her yellow and black scarf. "he told me he'd meet me sometime today actually, but I guess he got caught up with something else." she shrugs, looking back up at the quidditch players getting into position.

"or maybe... someone else?" luke asks, sounding concerned.

she sighs and turn to him. "just because he hangs out with bad people doesn't make him a bad person himself. you saw for yourself yesterday."

"i know, i know, but what if he really was working with the, you know, death eaters?" luke asks, whispering that last part.

the girl shakes her head at him. "he wouldn't. he's not like that."

"okay. whatever you say." luke says, looking at the teams on the field.

one of the captain blows their whistle and the match begins. players begin flying left, right, up and down around the field, chasing after each other on their brooms. bludgers are immediately thrown around at opposing players. the two seekers fly high above the scene trying to find the small, golden snitch. each team's chasers protect their quaffle and the keepers stand guard at the large circular hoops on either side of the arena.
