cody, emmy, and i have been standing around the island table like crazy people waiting for my phone to buzz. about an hour had passed and i was just about to give up and go take a shower when my phone starts going off.
all of our eyes go wide, cody grabs it, almost drops it in his effort to get it to me but finally i answer it.
"hello?" i say calmly. cody and emmy are holding each others hands eyes looking up at me expectingly.
"hello, is this sadie knight?" the caller asks.
"yes, this is she." i confirm.
"hello! i just wanted to call and let you know that you are now officially part of the dodgers broadcasting team!" my heart palpitates. oh my god.
"yes, i understand. thank you very much." i say.
"congratulations, we're glad to have you." she says before hanging up.
cody and emmy stand up. both looking at each other and then back at me as i take a deep breath.
"well?" cody asks. i look at him and can't help but smile.
"i got the job!!" i smile, cody shoots his arms up and runs to me. he lifts me up into the air and hugs me tight before giving me a sweet kiss. i laugh and he puts me down.
emmy makes her way over to me engulfing me into a giant hug, "i'm so proud of you sades. you deserve this and more. i love you!"
"i love you too, thank you for being here for it all." i thank her.
this is absolutely insane. my dreams are coming true. i couldn't be any more grateful.
