Paradise Bound

Chapter 23

Bailey POV

We have been waiting inside my dad ICU room for 3 hours now and there has been no word Kim is absolutely devastated and can't stop crying, Blade is holding it together, the same as Zeke, Ella and Blade are comforting Kim while Zeke is holding me while I just continue to cry and make his top wet.

This is the 3rd time we have been at a hospital and they are all my fault. First time was when I found the white horse and nearly fell to my death, second time I tried to stupidly kill myself and now we are here because it was suppose to be me who was hit by that car not my dad. Why did he have to be so stupid!

I calm myself down slightly and look around the room. We told my grandad to stay at home because he was still in remission and we didn't want him getting sick. Blade looks at me and it's like he can tell what I'm thinking.

Blade - Don't! It's not your fault.

Bailey – But it was meant to be me, dad pushed me out the way.

The door burst open and in runs Jace. I jump up and see he is covered in blood and he smiles at me.

Jace – So, I got a call and they asked me to be the lead doctor in your father surgery and he is going to make it, I know you can see a lot of blood on me but don't worry because Tucker is fine. His head hit the ground really bad so we have had to put him in a coma to help reduce the swelling.

He dislocated his shoulder, broke his ankle and unfortunately had internal bleeding from a rib puncturing his lung but we manage to stitch it up and fuse his rib back in place. He is going to be okay. We won't know the full damage to his brain and head until the swelling has reduced.

I burst out crying even more and then I hear Kim speak and what she says I get why she is worried.

Kim - We have recently started seeing each other it's been about 6 months, if he suffers from memory loss he will forget me right?

I see Jace look at her and smile.

Jace – If he does have memory loss then there is a possibility he might forget recent stuff like your relationship, Bailey coming home, Winston cancer, Bailey pregnancy and her relationship with Zeke but I am feeling positive he won't get memory loss but obviously I can't say for 100 percent he won't. I'm sorry.

Zeke - Do you know when he will wake up?

Jace – Like I said at the moment we have put him in a coma and tomorrow we will do a CT scan on his brain to see if the swelling has gone down, if it has we can take him out of his coma and then it will be up to him when he wakes up.

Zeke – Thank you.

Jace – And Bailey, I know it's hard considering what has happened but please don't stress and try to stay calm for the baby, if it wasn't for your dads heroic act earlier we could of lost you and the baby. I know you feel like it's your fault but it's not, it's the person who was driving the car and I know your probably annoyed with your dad but if it was your child you would do the same right?

God damn I hate it when everyone is right.

Bailey – Damn you for being so right. I will try and calm down.

Jace – Thank you and please rest, don't stay here everyday, you need to stay strong for your baby, you need regular sleep, rest, food and water, so guys please make sure she is getting it, I know she can be stubborn but if you have to drag her out of here.
