(Picture above- Aurelia)
Elena's POV-
After leaving Lark and Doaklan, Eden and I rushed down the long hall and found Aurelia's playroom. I knew she would be in there since that's where she spent most of her time because the Queen didn't have time to babysit her. I looked through the window of the door and saw Aurelia on the floor playing with her toys. I opened the door cautiously in case anybody else was in there, we stepped inside, took a couple of steps forward and looked around. The room was massive, stuffed with toys and games any child could ever dream of. We focused our gaze to the center of the room and Aurelia stared up at us with her big blue eyes.
"Hi, Miss Elena. Do you wanna play with me?" Aurelia asked.
"Hi sweetie, I'm gonna need you to follow us," I said hoping she'd listen without giving us trouble.
"Who's that?" She said pointing to Eden.
"That's my friend. She's going to help us. We're gonna go on an adventure around the castle. Doesn't that sound fun?"
"Umm I don't know, where are we gonna go. Are we gonna see my mommy?"
"No, we can't see your mommy right now, you have to promise that you won't make any noises on our adventure. We can play the silent game." I said, uncertain if she would fall for the plan.
"Okay, where are we going first?" Aurelia asked with enthusiasm.
"Just follow us and I promise we will have tons of fun!"
I grabbed Aurelia's tiny hand and we walked out the door and into the hall. Eden followed close behind me, none of us making a sound. We hurried to the file room but as we got closer, we saw guards outside. I picked Aurelia up and we ran back down the hallway, past the playroom, and into this elevator.
"Why'd we go in here? And what about Lark and Doaklan?" Eden said with fear in her eyes.
"I don't know what's going to happen to them. Their chances don't look so good but we had to save our own asses."
I held Aurelia close and stroked her soft brown hair. Itold her that she was doing a great job on our adventure, while I prayed she would stay silent and just go along with everything we said. We descended to the first floor and as soon as we stepped out of there elevator, we were greeted with a steel door. We looked through the window and saw thousands of people in one giant line. It looked as if it led to the same room as where the other steel door led to. That meant that this was one humongous room, which makes sense considering there were so many people. There were guards everywhere and people were pleading to be let go, but they were just shoved back into line, ready to accept their chips.
I gave Aurelia to Eden, who reluctantly grabbed her so that I could get a closer look. I had to make sure nobody saw us through the window of the door, while also checking both sides of the hallway occasionally. I surveyed the room on the other side of the door and right next to the guard who was implanting the chips with some sort of gun tool, there was the Queen Drundel.
"Mommy!" Aurelia cried.
Eden put her hand over Aurelia's mouth to keep her quiet, but that only made her scream more.
"Mommy! I see my mommy. Let me down!"
I quickly grabbed Aurelia from Eden, as Eden gave me a frightening and concerned look. I had to act fast and figure out a way to make sure Queen Drundel knew who her baby's life was at stake.
"Fine, you wanna see mommy? Let's go see her." I said as I pushed open the steel door.
