I hung over Arian's shoulder like a dead fish. I tried hitting and kicking, but it did nothing. My head throbbed and every muscle and bone in my body ached. I couldn't see or think straight, but I knew where I was being taken. He went down the stairs and made a left, headed straight for the steel door

"Please...please just let me go," I said defeatedly. I was completely drained, I could barely get the words out and I knew I wasn't going to be able to fight back.

There was no response, instead, he just ignored me and continued walking closer to where I would accept my fate. We approached the door and entered the room, he threw me off his shoulder and I fell to the ground. My ears were immediately flooded with screams and cries for help, as I saw families ripped apart, and lines of people being inserted with the chips. I looked a little further and I could see Queen Ferra Drundel. She had a huge smile on her face, like a kid who had just been promised a puppy. Her hair was dark brown like mine, and her lips were full.I began to get up and run over to her, but Arian grabbed my arm before I could even take a full step.

"Uggh! Get off!" I violently flailed my arms and legs, trying to escape his grasp.

"STOP FIGHTING!" He squeezed both of my arms tightly and dragged me into one of the many lines. "You will stay put if you know what's good for you."

"Please just kill me already. I'd rather be dead than become a mindless zombie."

"I refuse to give you an easy way out. I want to watch you suffer for making me put up with your defiance."

He slowly took his hands off of me and waited there for a couple of seconds before taking off again. I had to get to the Queen and tell her that I knew she was my mother. I thought maybe she would spare me if I told her, and I could convince her to put a stop to this thing.

I waited until Arian looked away for a split second and I sprinted as fast as I could, weaving in and out of the other guards and people. Multiple guards began to chase me but I didn't look back. My legs were on fire and I wanted to collapse but I was so close to the Queen. I could see a couple guards in front of her but I didn't care, I plowed right into them, and they stumbled over, not expecting it. I could see the Queen roll her eyes and then she gave me a deadly stare that sent shivers down my spine.

"Guards, stand down. Let me see what this delinquent has to say." She said as more guards began chasing me.

She was sitting on what seemed to be a throne, that was made out of pure gold and the cushion was a royal blue velvet. I stood next to her and just stared into her eyes. I could see so much of my face in hers, and I began to tear up.

"If you're not going to speak, you can just get back in line with the others," She said impatiently.

I took a deep breath and began to tell her the truth. "I'm your daughter... Lark Valentino."Her eyes widened and I could see the fear in them. She thought she would be able to keep me a secret, and I knew she was afraid that I would expose her for lying. I was that "miscarriage" she had lied about, which made for a perfect sob story so that she could rise to power.

"You've clearly been mistaken...I...I only have one daughter, Aurelia." She said nervously. Her guards turned around to see what was going on, they had clearly heard what we were discussing.

"Queen, my darling... would you like me to have her put back in line?" Arian asked as he blushed at the sight of the Queen's face.

"No honey, we are just having a little misunderstanding right now, that's all," she replied with a fake smile.

I looked at him and then back at her in confusion. They were both looking into one another's eyes and basically drooling. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing, could Arian and Queen Ferra be a "thing"? I dismissed the thought and focused on the situation at hand.Arian returned back to making sure people were in line, and aggressively beating them if they didn't cooperate.

"Mom." The word came out of my mouth and I didn't want it to be true. Just saying that made me so uncomfortable. "You are my true mother, I know you know I'm right. I found the papers in the file room, you know I'm your daughter."

"I don't know what you're talking about," she said dismissively.

"Goddammit! You lying bitch! You know you're my mother, just admit it." I was beyond frustrated and didn't know what to do.

She put her hand tightly around my jaw and pulled my face close to hers. "Don't you ever call me your mother... good thing I gave you up as soon as you were born," she whispered menacingly. She gave me a pitiful look and motioned for the guards to take me away.

"NO! No, let me go! She's my mom! I'm telling the truth." All of a sudden I heard the sound of a heavy door being swung open, and as it hit the wall it made such a loud bang, that it caught everyone's attention. The room went silent, and nobody moved.

I looked over to my left and could see another steel door, there was another entrance to the room. And standing right in front was Eden, Elena, and a little girl, who I assumed to be Aurelia, my sister.
