~ that time they learned of spawn ~

Athanasia opened her eyes to the bright sunlight that passed through the pristine glass door of the balcony. Since finding out she was pregnant, Lucas and her have moved to the actual palace for the emperor.

Of course, the emperor himself doesn't use it, and remains in the Garnet palace, the one he's used since he was born.

Athanasia noticed that Lucas was nowhere in the room to be found, but she just smiled and remained in bed just for a little longer, looking outside, remembering when she found out she was carrying a child.

...four weeks ago

Athanasia walked to the Black Tower to find Lucas. Just a moments ago, Lucas and her met each other at the training grounds after she had tea with her dad. She had heard that Lucas was there maintaining the barrier around the training grounds so that more knights may be able to practice integrating mana while training.

   "Lucas!"

Athanasia called to Lucas standing in the middle of the grounds. Several knights looked over to her and greeted her in salute with their fist to their chest.

  "Hey."

Was the simple reply she got back from Lucas walking towards her. He smiled, looking directly in her eyes. His red rubies glowed under the sunlight and it brought out his stunning features.

That face. Why wasn't he wearing his cloak anyway? The outline of his body showing from his light shirt made Athanasia's heart thump more than she allowed.

Her face turned slightly red, remembering that night a week ago. It wasn't their first time, but that night Lucas was particularly aggressive.

It left her completely under his control. And to be honest, she didn't hate it at all. In fact she might have liked it bett— no no! No way. Athanasia shook her head and groaned.

"What's the matter with you? Hungry?"

Lucas was bent down right beside her and looked at her. They stood merely inches apart.

"Wah!"

Athanasia pushed his face away,

     "You're too close!"

"What?"

Lucas scoffed irately.

"I can be as close to what's mine as I want to be."

He held both her wrists with one hand and pulled her to him.

"Wah!"

Lucas looked down at his blushing wife. His face wore a puzzled look, and his brows slightly furrowed. "What?" his wife asked, biting her lower lip, staring at him with a questioning look.

"What..."

Lucas mumbled as his grip on her loosened. His face turned red and he backed away a step, looking at his wife's body.

"What?!"

Athanasia asked irately, stomping the ground with one foot. Then she took a step towards Lucas, making Lucas in turn, take a step back.

"Hey—!"

He almost yelped out in a crack voice. His bewildered face somehow annoyed Athanasia. Lucas covered his mouth as he gasped.
