part one

     "Waaaaah!!"

*+picks up*

It only took a minute before Athy cried for Claude.

"Good girl~"

Claude patted baby Athy with gentle touches, cooing by her ear to calm her down.

There was a huffing behind him, obviously not pleased with his actions. It has been so that Claude would pick up the baby every time she cries, creating a bad habit, as Lillian York said.

Now, only being two weeks old, baby Athanasia can no longer fall asleep unless she was in the arms of her father, Claude.

Thus, what the maid called "easement" had begun.

"Is that really good, your majesty?"

Lily asked in a blunt tone.

"The princess needs to have some independence."

"Independence?"

Claude snorted.

"What kind of foolishness are you saying to me now, Lillian York? The princess will obviously depend on me for her whole life. Do not speak when I am not asking you a question."

"What am I saying right now?"

Lily had a disgruntled look on her face. However, the emperor would not see this, for he only ever looked at the baby princess.

Rocking her in his arms, poking her cheeks.

Poking her cheeks and poking her cheeks...

It seems the emperor had found himself an amusement in that whenever he pokes baby Athy's cheeks, her mouth would immediately follow and nibble on his finger.

Just look at that amused look on his face. Preposterous.

Lily stared.

"Her skin is very delicate your majesty. Perhaps it would be better if you refrain from poking her cheeks so much?"

Claude glared at her.

"Perhaps it's time you get out."

"Now."

Lily bit her lips, but bowed down, said her greeting and left the room.

"Wait...! Take that thing with you!"

The emperor wondered for a moment if he just heard the clicking of a tongue from the maid, but soon ignored it when his baby princess cooed in his arms.
