~ in the wake of his love ~
In the Garnet Palace where special violet flowers bloom, the chief wizard of the tower hums and waltz through the marble tiles of the corridor.
Admiring the florescent flowers, grandpa chief stepped down the beveled hall and strolled through the beautiful, fluttering petals under the starry night sky.
In the middle of the flower field close to the emperor's chambers was a magical butterfly that had crystallized after giving the roots of the flowers its blue hue.
This caught the old wizard's eyes and he thought what a wonderful gift for the princess it would be.
Grandpa chief knelt down and carefully took the butterfly off the bunch of flowers that supported it.
"Hm hm~ what a lovely thing~!"
When he resumed his travel to the oval office, his steps had a merrier sound to them. Humming through the empty corridors until he reached the office.
Grandpa chief poked his head in through the open door. An almost impossible occurrence as the oval office would never be left wide open and empty at the same time.
"Princess~ I'm here~"
Having no one answered, grandpa chief looked around and stepped in. Taking a step closer to the desk, his nose tingled. The scent of blood filled the air in the room and his eyes landed on the desk, down the carpet.
Blood.
So much blood. Fresh blood that still dripped from the desk down the carpet. Grandpa chief followed the trail of the blood. It moved from the desk, to the sofa, and then right where he stood.
The old wizard looked at his footing. A pool of blood underneath his shoes soaked the fabric around them. But the blood trail stopped there.
"Oh boy..."
Grandpa chief cleared his throat a couple of times, clearly seeing the leftovers of Lucas' mana all over the place.
"I was too late."
He brushed his long beard and thought for a moment. And then, grandpa chief cackled and stuck his tongue out playfully.
"Teehee~! Oh well! Guess I'll go back and keep this little one to myself."

...in a different world, outside the palace, central square
Today, the citizens in the capital is once again blessed with the presence of their emperor. Standing in front of the gigantic golden statue of himself and his daughter is emperor Claude de Alger Obelia.
Staring up at the all the gold in the middle of the newly constructed fountain at the center of the square was Claude who couldn't find words to describe how he feels.
What in the actual fu—...
Although his face showed no emotions, per usual, Roger has been killed multiple times in his head by demeaning words. Death by insult.
Claude could swear he ordered for the giant block of gold used as a ring to be turned into or used for something resourceful. Like reserved gold coins.
But what do we have here?
Doting as he may be, Claude is also a genius ruler. He knows the ways to riches and prosperities, and also the ways to doom and poverty.
This one is definitely the latter.
