The Last Party
This party was an annual event, known through out the lands. Mahogany Meadows brought the food, Fluxlot and blackrock brought lights and decorations, Khazmodan brought the drink unfortunately and the elves brought the entertainment. Valdez hosted this prodigious celebration on the date it was said to be the birth of Ridge, the great.
King Xephos was a great King and he treated his people with respect and gratitude. As the host he welcomed his guests into his castle, a magnificent one at that. With his trimmed goatee and arms open he stood at the gateway.
"Sire, should i make up name plates?" He heard behind him and turned slowly to see his servant Trottimus with card and a pen, not to mention looking like a fox in front of car lights. "Trottimus, you know to call me Xephos or hell even Xeph. You can do it if you want, you are in charge of this".
Trottimus looks to the ground, as if his notebook of things to do and add his new task to his long list. "How long 'til they arrive?" Trottimus stands beside him. "They should be coming around about now, Dew should be first". Trottimus smiled beside him looking into the sunset that was going down fast. "When will the food be coming?" Trottimus questioned, taking steps back and heading into the castle. Xephos turns round and shrugs, "Should be here any minute, your fine Trottimus! You got this completely under control anyway". Trottimus smiled back to Xephos and walked his hand, he turned and his smile turned into a Cheshire cat grin.
Xephos laughed shaking his head and turned back around just in time to see his beloved friend Honeydew come riding on a pig. His other best friend Lalna rolling his eyes at the short man. "Xephos! See your girlfriends pies have gotten to you!" Honeydew laughs as he pats Xephos's stomach. "I'm sure thats not all the things that have gotten to you Xeph?" Lalna pipes in and Xephos playfully glares and points at the door, "Get inside you two".
Next to arrive was as he suspected Sjin, Sips and Lotta from Mahogany Meadows with a wagon full of fresh meat, bread and vintage wine. Xephos licked his dry lips, "Sjin! You always out do yourself every damn year! Quickly get them inside before it gets dirty" Xephos hugs the bearded man and then his grey friend Sips. "Lotta, come on bring it in!" Sips shouts and in return gets a grape thrown. "I'm coming" Says Lotta, throwing a large piece of bread to the King.
"Your majesty" She curtsied while helping push the wagon with the others. Xephos tucks in to the bread as his other guests arrive, Zoey, Rythian and Max. "Did i miss dinner?" The accented man said squinting his purple eyes a the bread. "You'll have plenty Rythian, Zoey did you bring the-" "I brought the mushrooms don't worry, Barry and Jeff weren't happy but i decided to you know take another level of-" Zoey babbled on as Rythian carried her forward. "See you inside" Xephos shouts back. Max carried there lights and almost tripped passing by Xephos. "They treating you well Max?" Xephos stifles a laugh and Max turning around with difficulty. "It's Djh3max! Why does nobody call me that?" Max and Xephos laugh as he wobbles on after his friends.
Next up was the Young elf Martyn also known as Inthelittlewood also known as Martyn, Marie the researcher and her assistant Alsmiffy. "Xephos! So good to see you!" Marie hugs him tight, his eyes bulging slightly. "Marie, glad you could take some time not exploding things and turn up".
Martyn and Alsmiffy snicker at Marie blushing, "That was one time. Is Lalna here? He had something for me" Xephos nods. "First in with Honeydew, they should be inside". Marie drags Martyn in with her. Alsmiffy pauses, staring at Xephos before going inside.
Finally the two Fluxlot leaders; Anneliese and Nano stumbled into the castle. "You should really let my doctor Trottimus look into that Nano, it's getting worse every time i see it" Xephos points out the harsh flux mark on Nanos face, arm and distorted eye. "She's fine" Anneliese for Nano who stumbles in her footing. "Nothing will go wrong tonight Nano, keep telling yourself that like last time" Anneliese says patting her on her back and Nano goes forward. Xephos walks by Anneliese as the gateway closed.
Oh how was Anneliese so wrong.
