Another bright day was blessed upon the Fire Nation; Residents smiled with one another in town as messenger hawks soared throughout the ocean sky; meanwhile, the sun shined its light over the land of the East Side and gave the signal to those in a state of slumber to rise up; And who knows what exciting adventures wait ahead for our hero?

And so, the boy prepared for the morning; After finishing his routine, he threw on a black shirt and called it a day before finishing a 'gourmet' breakfast of bland rice and leftover street food from the night prior. Why was there no effort put forth in his attire? Well, since the kid is too lazy to do his own laundry for his uniform, he decided that pushing that responsibility over to "Old Man Lee" was a better idea. "It should be finished drying by now. Time to get going, I guess." He said to himself.
He got up from the chair in his dining room before searching for his Family necklace. With a bit of backtracking, he found it laying on his nightstand. But, something caught his attention as he stood there in his room. He took a glance at the closet, and a pit of regret stirred within him as he stared at the cracked opening and the contents inside it. Shaking his head, he grabbed the necklace and headed out of the room.
Standing at the front door, he took a deep breath and did his best to stay in the present; Not occupying his mind with thoughts of the past or future. "Alright...another day, another fire to burn, right? You can do this Kyo...do it for her." And thus, he stepped outside into the world and began his journey.

On his way there he took everything in; from the scenery of the town's street filled with citizens chatting amongst themselves. Mothers, and fathers, walked with their children hand-in-hand, happily escorting themselves to wherever their hearts desired.
Seeing them only gave him a mild pain in his chest that kept growing the longer he continued to dwell in his thoughts. Of course, a part of him was happy for the lucky kids who were living regular lives—with regular parents-- with regular jobs. But...the empty feeling in his stomach seemed endless.
He faintly smiled as he walked past the family, going in opposite directions, "Enjoy the time you have with them, kid...while you still have it."

At this point, he'd almost left the populated side of town to the more quiet and reserved area. The only places that pulled in visitors, every now and then, were the beaches that had that nostalgic salty breeze and the rocky caves that were nearby. Not to mention, it was a little added bonus when he was on the way to getting his uniform; it let him clear his mind right before school and soothed his anxious thoughts.
With that being said, a group of four kids could be seen running off in the distance. Two were shorter than the other two. And from what he saw, one of them was wearing an outfit similar to a school uniform.
"Hmm...? Skipping school for a trip to the beach?". He shrugged and didn't give too much thought to it. It wasn't uncommon for students to play hooky. Sure, it's probably fun; but getting caught by one of the Soldiers is another thing to worry about.
After a good while of walking, he made it over to a small house near a waterfall. He walked towards the multiple clotheslines that stood before him; with hot steam coming from the natural air vents from below. "Alright! Let's get my clothes and head out!" He checked the usual spot like always. But...something was wrong. There were pairs of clothes hung up, all but his own.
