The level of excitement in Inarizaki High was at an all-time high this time of the year. And why wouldn't it be? Classes were cancelled on the occasion of Sports Day, and to hyper-active teenagers in high school, frolicking around the school with their friends sounded like a great way to spend the day.
However, some had better plans to spend their free time as they were making out with their partners in deserted hallways, since everyone was either in the fields or in the gymnasium halls. Atsumu felt a sharp pang of the unknown in his heart when he happened upon these couples, but he chalked it off as indigestion.
Or hunger. It was probably, most likely, the abdomen region... Since he did have a lighter breakfast that day...
Ren was very eager about Sports Day, and that much was transparent to Atsumu who followed her around the baseball field with his eyes. Her smiles were brighter, her movements as she walked or ran were lighter, more fluid...? She was clearly playing every game to her very best, and cheering on her classmates whenever they were playing. He has never seen her look so psyched about anything, and it was amusing him to no end to see her like a happy little bunny, hopping around everywhere with their classmates, especially the Sunshine Duo.
He wanted to tag along with them too, but he constantly felt as if someone was watching him. Every time he turned to look in the direction of where he thought someone was watching, he only saw 'Samu and Suna talking about some game they were currently playing on their consoles.
He sighed and reverted his gaze back to her and unconsciously let out a small smile, basking in the warmth of her smiles.
