Atsumu's gaze was locked on her the moment she walked onto the stage with the Sunshine Duo. He took her form in, which seemed stiffer than usual, but her gait was confident and sure as ever. He smiled slightly at that.
"Good morning, Inarizaki High."
Her soft yet commanding voice reverberated through the hall. Ah, Ren-chan is fine. She seems like she is in her zone.
"I would say welcome to a new year in high school life, but it's actually been me who has felt the warm welcome this last month. My only regret is that I should have probably joined a year back."
Yea, that way I'd have a year more with you.
"My classmates, peers, and even seniors have been so supportive all this while, in showing me around the campus and telling me wonderful personal stories about this place, I feel like I've already been here for years now."
He remembered the way she would start up a conversation with just about anyone, at any given time. Be it in the hallways, in the classes, during lunch breaks, or even after-school hours around the campus, it was really fascinating to watch her ease everyone's body language as they would continue to talk to her.
"In the same spirit of helping those who seek it, I'm standing in the Student Council elections this year, with the aim to be the Treasurer, along with my classmates Satoru Hina-san and Suzuki Akira-san, who will be part of the Promotions Team.
"But it's not with just the motive of being in the Student Council that we stand before you today. We are here with solid and actionable goals in mind, that we believe would amplify the enthusiasm of being a part of this school, the quality of the student body over the years to come and eventually, the reputation of Inarizaki High."
Oh? Powerful words, wrapped in intrigue... way to grab everyone's attention Ren-chan.
"Now, some of you may think that these seem to be quite lofty goals. I don't blame you actually, I'd think so too if I were you. But please hear us out, and then maybe, you'll see, that these goals are actually actionable and achievable."
Well then, bring it.
"In the last month of getting to know a lot of my peers from the 2nd year and some seniors like Kita Shinsuke-san and Watanabe Rina-senpai, I've come to observe that a lot of our student clubs hold national level awards and recognition, like our sports clubs and performing arts clubs like the dance, the choir and the marching band. I've come to know how hard you guys practice, too. I've seen it with my very own eyes!"
So that's why she was always with them.
"Because I didn't have any club activities this month, I have observing three major and common behaviour in students during these club activity hours - passion, dedication and perseverance. And these are the three qualities, we'd literally want to bank on, thus, generating more income for better level of club activities."
Bank on? How?
"When our dance club or choir feel like they need an audience to practice better by putting up a performance with crowds, we will facilitate some short concerts for people in our vicinity to enjoy. When our students from famous teams like Volleyball or Basketball, Soccer or even Shogi have their practice matches, especially with reputed teams from around Hyogo or Japan, we propose to allow external attendees to join them, just like an audience. But all of these can be attended with a certain amount which will be collected not as ticket prices but as acts of donation that will be used in the improvement of club facilities and equipment."
Woah... Nice serve! But how?
"We realise that not all sports clubs have managers to regulate the finances, the promotions and the events, and that's why we are proposing that the Student Council will collaborate with all the clubs as and when they need. We will work hand-in-hand with the Promotions Team, who will manage the marketing of events, and our Events Management Teams will facilitate the events so that, till its time for you to shine under the spotlight, you can just focus on practicing and performing your very best. That's it. That's all you have to do."
Oh. My. Fuckin'. God. Nice receive!
"Because the power, the talent and the charisma that our gifted students hold are the real treasures of Inarizaki High, and we are proposing to invest in them, as they will lead us to having better budgets, and hence, better times, really. We have with us not only the guidance of our very own faculties, but also the wisdom of our Principal, our board of directors and the influence that our trustees have in our community outside of these school grounds. And if we are to become better, we will all have to take that step forward, together. We will all be in this, together."
Atsumu quickly looked around to take in some reactions, and they did not fail him. Some jaws gave up their fight against gravity, dropping straight to the ground. 'Samu looked proud as fuck, as if that was his spawn on the stage giving the speech that he wrote. Suna was unabashedly staring, his phone recording the whole damn thing was now forgotten, and Gin looked mighty impressed with his eyes wide open.
Holy fuck. She's done it. She's won this shit!
"And. And if this promise of ours, sounds like something that could benefit your future in this school, then all it would take right now, would be one single vote from each one of you. Thank you, and here's to more power to you."
Oh fuck. Nice kill!
His smile widened, almost grinning. There were students cat-calling, howling, and cheering for them as they bowed and walked out. The entire student body was talking in excited whispers, and he knew that she has indeed nailed it. They'd win by a landslide.
Even before she walked on to that stage earlier today, he knew he would vote for her. But after that brilliant plan of hers, he was sure to influence more people to vote for her, if need be. He will make sure that she would win this, even if some stupid people still didn't think so.
Though, 'Samu would call it bullying or some shit like that. Ah~~ Ren-chan, the things I'd do for you!
