A/N: I literally have planned like 3 stories after this, and I am just writing this out at my maximum speed. It's been edited but like, 80% maybe? I hope you guys don't mind. :P

If you took a spectrum that showed a wide range of emotions, and labelled each of the ends as "sheer ecstacy" and "desolation like the pits of hell," then, Ren and Atsumu would be standing on both ends of it.
It really vexed her that she ended up with Atsumu for the three-legged race. She'd much rather be paired with Osamu, but Hina asked him before she could, and she didn't want her friend to end up with Atsumu, who was previously quite rude to her even if he did apologise to them later on.
When she turned to look for her last resort, Suna (he asked her she drop the "san" with him a while ago), he was already chatting up with another girl from their class, completely oblivious to her distress, and left her with the annoyingly handsome perpetually-smirking Atsumu.
Was he born with that expression? He seemed to have that facial expression on ALL THE TIME.
Ren wasn't looking forward to this race with him, at all. Firstly, he showed how much of a brat he was, while playing baseball with their classmates earlier. His lack of compassion for them unnerved her. And secondly, being in such close proximity of him, again, unnerved her! Practically everything about him UNNERVED her and the stark changes in her own reaction to him since she first met him, confused the sanity out of her.
But now's not the time to think about it! Now, we have to win. Although, with Atsumu, that's an improbability! Ugh.
-----------------------
Open stalls of Milo were littered around the school's track-n-field grounds, giving free supply of refreshing cold milo to the fatigued students. The students seemed to be having fun, chatting away and thoroughly enjoying the chaos that was school-wide welcomed.
But the refreshing Milo wasn't why Atsumu felt like he could run on lava and come out unscathed, still feeling like he got out of the cool sea. While the rest of the school was basking in the afternoon sun, Atsumu was basking in the frowns that Ren frequently sent his way.
Sure, they were second last in the three-legged race, but he felt like he won it. His only regret was that he couldn't get them in last position, which only meant more time; and more time meant more side-hugs, more tiny blows to his chest with shrieks of "hurry up!," more of the adorable growls of frustrations she let out when he refused to go any faster, and of course, just more bodily contact with Ren, overall.
And now, as they walked towards a milo truck with the rest of their classmates, he felt like wrapping Ren in arms from the back, while continuing to hear her grouse about whatever she was complaining about, and just smile, because that's how happy he felt! Indeed, for him, the sun seemed to shine brighter, the grass seemed greener, the people around them started to disappear, and her figure that was stomping away from him seemed to appear clearer, more attractive, than ever before.
Maybe I should just throw her on my shoulders, and take her away some place where it will just be the two of us, and she could take all the time she needs in the world to hurl whatever accusations she has against him. Just vent about... whatever... I don't even care...
Sigh.
He decided he'd happily listen to whatever she would say as long as it was directed at him.
Well, even if it wasn't for me, I'd still listen to her...
The world may have decided to ended then and there, but Atsumu would not give a tiny rat's ass. He was occupied with something way more interesting, after all!
-----------------------
Ren happily crossed the finish line in the 4-person baton race with Hina, Akira and Suna, and before long, she was swept up in their excited hugs.
That was such a welcome change to that extremely disappointing and unnerving three-legged race with Atsumu!
And now, half of them were lined up for the final set of games in the basketball courts, as the other half had gone off to compete in soccer.
Basketball it is... Definitely...
As she walked along with some of the girls and boys, which included the Volleyboys, who thought it would be better to use their skills in basketball than soccer, she completely missed the strange, confused looks that Atsumu sent her way.
Ahh~~, it was almost the end of the day, but it had been nothing short of fun! Well, mostly, anyway...
-----------------------
The dashing boys of class 2-B easily won in the basketball games that lasted for 20 minutes in total each, giving a short break after 10 minutes.
Well, dashing according to me because I, Miya Atsumu, was playing!
He did hear some squeals of the Miya Twins' fangirls, but he didn't let it bother him as much as they bothered him during his volleyball matches. He sent fist bumps and smarting smacks on the backs of his classmates, as they exited the court to the let the girls of their year play.
"Thanks," he said, as Suna handed him and 'Samu cups of Milo.
He glanced back towards the courts, as Ren and the other half of Sunshine Duo, Hina, enter the court with three other girls from their class. Most of them looked pretty exhausted, considering they were almost nearing the end of the day, and physical exertion at this point was at its peak.
But they should be fine... Ren-chan's got their backs!
What happened 16 minutes into the game, however, was completely unexpected by all parties involved.
Hina, while she dribbled her way around the opponents, got injured which caused her to slide on the floor against her knees, heavily bruising her kneecaps. Ren rushed to her side, as did their classmates, even the boys. Suna held her from the other side, as the blood then started to ooze out of her knees. Hina was already holding back her tears, and Atsumu nudged his brother to help her up. He looked towards Ren to tell her to give way to 'Samu so he could pick her up and bring her to the infirmary.
But before he could utter a word, he was shocked to see how pale she had gone as her gaze was fixed at Hina's bruised kneecaps. He bent down to her to grab held her shoulders, when he watched her eyes roll back into their socket and and fall back on the floor with a loud thump.
"Holy shit!" exclaimed 'Samu. "Wait, did we miss something? What happened to her?"
"Crap. No, nothing. She was just sitting here," said Suna.
"Hold on, who really got injured?" asked Atsumu, completely baffled.
"Just carry her, will you dickhead?" said 'Samu. "Oi Rin, help me lift up Hina-san. I'll carry her, you just open the doors on the way. Atsumu, follow me." With that he trailed after 'Samu out of the gymnasium, Ren limp in his arms, leaving the other girls of Class-B to continue with the game.
What the fuck just happened?
