I woke the next morning. thankfully it was Saturday, i was not in any mood to go deal with Alana today. I rubbed my green eyes, to try and keep them open. I yawn once before getting out of bed.
i looked down to notice I was still in the clothes I was wearing the day before. a vintage green tee with black jeans. My black shoes were lying on the floor next to a box filled with my books. I looked at my feet to see I only had one sock on.
I rubbed my eye again and started to head downstairs. I saw my mom on the phone, probably using the neighbor's WIFI due to her leaning up against the wall. " Yes, Ariana Haze," she nodded.
I heard a roar Peirce through my ears. It scared me, my heart skipped a beat as it jumped from its spot in my chest. I ran over to the window and noticed the water dripping from the dark clouds above. I placed my hand on the freezing cold window as I watched the rain pour down to the earth.
" yes!" I heard a voice call. i turned to see my mom smiling, " I got a job!" she ran up to me and hugged my tight. i smiled and hugged her back.
" that's great mom, what job is it?" I asked.
"its not much, but I'm working at a restruant as a waiter," she broke the hug. her hands still on my arms. she smiled at me, " maybe things are going to be ok,"
elsa walked down the stairs, a few suitcases being dragged by her. she was all dressed up, ready to leave the house. she even had a bright purple rain coat on. my mom turned to her, confused, "where are you going?"
" I got myself an apartment to live in, and a job," she smiled, " I got a few more bags, plus I need my phone back," she said while reaching her hand out, technically asking for her phone.
my mom raised an eyebrow, " back up, you don't turn eighteen for another two months," my mom pointed out as another crash of thunder tore through the sky.
" zia turned eighteen last month and has her own apartment, plus she got me a job at a makeup store," elsa explained. a bright light shone through the windows by the front door. elsa smiled, " that's zia now," she pulled the hood over her head. she walked into the kitchen and grabbed her phone that was sitting on the wooded bar.
i was frozen in shock, and clearly so was mom. elsa grabbed her suitcases and bags and placed them in the back of her friends car. my mom turned to me, " Hayden, go wait upstairs for a little," she brushed my hair with her hand. i nodded, and started to walk up the stairs.
i waited at the top of the stairs, trying to figure out what was going on with the roars of thunder roaming the house. i couldn't hear much besides a few shouts. a huge bam scattered through the house. i was sitting down, pearing through the pillars of the stairs. i saw my mother on the couch, curled up.
she had her face in her hands and was sobbing. i stood up and started to walk down the stairs. i sat next to her on the couch. i leaned in and hugged her. she removed her head from her hands and looked my way. she put on a smile, " thanks hay,"
" is elsa gone?" I asked, tilting my head like an innocent little kid.
she nodded, " uh yea, she is gone,"
my hug gripped tighted some more, " at least you don't have to pay as much," I tried to find the bright side, in this case it was hard, " I could get a job, some how," I shrugged.
she shook her head, " you are to young hayden," she reached her hand out and calmly ran her hand through my hair.
i nodded, " maybe I could sell things I don't need any more, or walk dogs or something," I suggested.
" listen hayden its ok," she smiled, " we will get back on our feet one way or another,"
I smiled , " thanks mom,"
she sat her hand on my shoulder as we broke the hug, " I found an apartment that's five minutes away from here," she smiled, "we go to check it out tomorrow. also, you are going to have to start taking the bus once we move in next week,"
I nodded, " ok," another crash of thuder shattered through the air. the lights flickred a little. i scooted a little closer to my mom. i smiled at her wehna thought appeared in my mind, " wanna eat elsas stash of cookies ?"
she rolled her eyes while giggling, " how do you always come up with a way to make me smile?" she asked.
i shrugged, " I just do," I then headed to the pantry and pulled out a bag filled with chocolate chip cookies. we sat on the couch and ate the cookies, just smiling and enjoying each others time together.
