it was the next day. the first sunny day in a while. well, its texas in the season others call spring, but we call it storm season. one day, the rain is pouring down hard, the next day its 102 degrees out side.the next thing you know, its snowing, then a tornado crashes by.

i was wearing a hoodie and jeans, knowing out of know where, the 89 degrees with change to 56. i had stayed after school for tutoring. i was waiting outside, in the very humid texas heat, waiting for alana to show up.

i would hear voices coming through the door i was near. i turned to see alana and that girl with the raven colored hair, talking. " sorry heather, im being tutored today, but i should be free on friday," alana smled.

" great! i will text rache that the girls day is on," heather smiled,  " i will see you later," heather waved at alana, walking off.

i turned back around, walking over to a bench. i sat on it, waiting for alana. when she finally showed up i pulled out a math book. she smiled at me, ' hey hayden,"

i made that akward face everyone makes when they dont know what to say, " hey.."

she pulled out her math homework and her text book, " im not doing very well in math, and my dad said if i dont pass the next test next week i cant go to see school formal dance next month," she sighed.

i rasied an eyebrow, " our school does dances?"

she smiled, " thats not important, lets get started,"

i nodded, " your test is over decimals and fractions, easy,"

"uh, not easy!" she shook her head,  " why is there letters in math! it makes no sense! math and English should never cross," she narrowed her eyes at the paper with the math problem, showing some anger.

// i am going to go ahed and point out i suck at math. THERE IS HONESTLY NO NEED FOR LETTERS AND NUMBERS TO MIX! also im digging back in my mind for math stuff to put on here, i am soo sorry,//

i shook my head, slightly laughing, " o-ok, think of it like this," i started, " you have this pie, and there is five slices,"

" five ? the heck, how do you make five slices into a pie ?" she asked.

i then sighed, " pretend it were possible to cut your pumpkin pie into five slices,"

" im allergic to pumpkins,"

" then its a apple pie!" i said, almost getting on my last nerve, " and you eat  two slices, what would your fraction be ?" i asked.

" uh..maybe 3/5 ?" she guessed.

i nodded, " yes, and what fraction is that ?"i asked.

" 3/5, i just said that," she spatted out.

i shook my head, " no, is that the remaining or what you ate?" i asked.

" but i didnt eat any thing," she said confused.

i slammed my head on the table of the bench we were at, this was gonna be a long hour.

                                                        {~*~}

my mom had picked me up from the tutoring. she just got off her shift. she had some sauce on her shirt, it looked like, probably some kid was throwing a fit. she smiled at me, still keeping her eyes on the road," how was the tutoring?" she asked.

i gave her... that look, " that girl does not understand basic math," i shook my head, trying to rid myself from the pie memory.

my mom shrugged, " well, some people are not as good at some stuff, like how you are not the best in PE, what do you call it again?" she asked.

" pointless exercise, the devils class, reason im in so much pain,"

she shook her head, " hayden that was a while ago,"

i slightly grunted and looked out the  window, the memory pouring through my mind.

i was in fourth grade, an innocent little kid running the track with his class. the track on the other hand was closed due to it being torn up by a hail storm that happened the following night. we had to run in the parking lot. my best friend, jay, was running with me.

a school bus was passing by the parking lot and the coach didnt see, but i did. jay was out of breath from running, and also didnt see the bus. i did what any friend would do. call his name. he looked over, but was to tired to move, so what did i do? i pushed him.

i pushed him and got ran over.

now, my hips and spine are pretty messed up and im having to do these endless exercises, that are tiring and leave me sore. im just glad i didnt die or lose feeling in any of my legs or arms. the bad thing is, ever since that day, jay would not talk to me. no one saw me as a hero, just a freak with a bad back.

it had been silent in the car for a while. my mom quickly looked at me, " do you wanna ride the bus, or i can drive you,i thought you would just be over the fear by now,"

i nodded, "im fine, i will ride the bus."

my mom bit her lip,"if you are sure hunny,"

the silence continued to play, except for the song, supermarket flowers, playing on the radio. i looked down at my hands.

a heart thats been broke is a heart thats been loved...

// btw i dont own the song , all rights go to ed sheeran . btw u gotta listen to that song!//
