SPACEKID!!!! (this ones kinda bittersweet)
ok so the reason he loves space and the stars and stuff so much is because he has really bad insomnia, so his uncle would sit with him and teach him about different stars until he fell asleep.
his insomnia makes it hard to sleep at camp, and his uncle isn't there so sometimes he sits outside of his tent looking at the stars. david catches him out there one night and sits with him, so spacekid teaches him about different constellations.
now there is an activity for one night a week the campers go stargazing, and spacekid starts to sleep a lot better now.
