ALEX

The barkeeper handed me another beer before I turned around to find my guys with our table. There weren’t anyone in sight so I just turned back and looked at the man. He stared at me for a second before he continued his work. Obviously he knew who I was. I looked around again to find someone to talk to. Of course it was a lot of people I could talk to, but I wasn’t in mood for whoever. I spotted Rian and Jennifer with a table close to the dance floor and wondered if I should go say hi. I didn’t want to interrupt anything so I kept scanning the room for the rest of the guys. It was weird though. Rian had Jennifer, Zack had Sally, I was lonely, and I don’t even know with Jack. I was happy for my dudes having love in their life, but seriously.. Loneliness isn’t something for me. The weirdest of it all were Jack. I couldn’t figure out what happened to him, and of course he didn’t talk about it. He was too childish to talk about things like that. I should probably not be the person to complain about others being childish, but still. Jack had been acting weird the last weeks..

A big bang interrupted my thoughts. The tables got pushed away of a body that hit them and a lot of people started get in around. I tried to find my way into the middle to see what was actually going on, but I was soon going to regret. As a new bang got out I realized who it was. I jumped in the middle of them and tried to calm them down, but I was too late. One of them was already full of blood, and the other turned his back and went away. I turned to the bloody face to help, but he just pulled me away. I smelled that he was seriously drunk, and I knew him. He wouldn’t have done anything stupid enough to get hit if he wasn’t drunk.

SALLY

I got out of the bed and stared at my phone. My mind was spinning. I put on the clothes that I threw on the floor before I went to bed last night, and ran down the stairs. I thought about waking up Milly, but I couldn’t. I was nearly crying, and I didn’t want anyone to see that. I wiped the lonely tear away and ran against the door. I suddenly ran in Frank that came out of the kitchen in the same second. “Ey, what’s wrong?” he said and stopped me with his one hand. In the other hand I held a glass with water. “Nothing, I just need some air!” I said fast and tried to get out of the house. “Well, let me join you then?” he said, staring at me. He put down the glass on the table beside us and looked at me. He knew something was wrong. He wouldn’t act or ask like that if he thought everything was okay. “Sure..” I said doubting. “Awesome” he said and got on his shoes and jacket. This was bad. How could I get to town without he knowing, and how could I explain why I had to go there, without actually telling him the reason? I was fucked.

We walked against the bus stop and I kept checking on the time. I knew when it was coming a bus, and I knew that I got exactly 13 minutes to explain everything to Frank. “When are you actually going to tell me what’s going on?” he asked and stopped in front of me. I sighed and looked at him. “Alex called and Jack left with bloody face, Zack left and no one knows where.. Alex is super worried, I got worried, and I need to get there now!” I almost shout. I was talking so fast that I didn’t even think over my words, I just shout them all out. Frank looked at me with a half asking face. “Let’s go there fast then!” He suddenly said and took my hand. He pulled me behind him as he almost ran. Obviously he knew that we were late to the bus. Because I ran so slowly he stopped and suddenly pulled me up on his back and continued running. I couldn’t hold back my laugh anymore. Even this was a seriously situation I couldn’t hold back my laugh. He was carrying me like a backpack, and as I continued laugh I noticed that he started laugh a little too. In the sight of the bus stop two lights came through the fog and I jumped of Frank’s back running faster than ever before. “Sally!” I heard Frank scream after me but I continued run.

As I got to the lights I saw that was only a trailer standing on the gas station near the bus stop. I turned around and saw Frank coming against me laughing like crazy. “I don’t like you” I said and stared at him but he just laughed more. “Go home. I don’t like you” I repeated. “You have to admit that was quite funny,” he said, still laughing. I tried to make up a mad face, but his amazing laugh and his adorable smile made me freak out inside. I couldn’t hold my smile anymore and he caught me smiling my big, stupid smile. “That’s what I wanted to see!” he said and smiled. He wrapped his arms around my waist as I tried to turn away for him to not see my smile. He rested his face on my shoulder and kept his arms around my waist. I stared out in the air. I felt protected. I felt good in some seconds, before it got up for me what I was actually going to do right now. My face turned from smile to cold and I kept staring. “You look better with a smile on your face” Frank said. For some girls it may be cute, but for me it was only a bad try to make me smile again. “You can go now” I said and looked away. “What? No. I’m going with you” he said and moved to stay in front of me, locking my eyes. “You sh..” I started but he interrupted me. “Everyone needs a friend, and I’m your.. friend” he said almost doubting at the end. I stared asking at him. ”I’m going with you, either you want or not” he said with a little smile.

My phone called and I answered it just in the second it rang. “Jack is on his way home. I mean, home to his parents. Why? I don’t even know, but I’m going after him.. You have to find Zack” Alex said. He was talking incredibly fast. I nodded before Frank poked me so I noticed that Alex couldn’t see my nod. “Keep me updated,” I only said before hanging up. What was even going on?
