It was a Saturday morning and we were at the dining having breakfast, I wanted eating up in my room but they wouldn't have it. They've been really nice though but I still feel lonely deep down
'I already made arrangements for your new school, you'll be starting Monday...so how about we go to the mall and get something's you might need, sounds good?' she asked looking at me
'Yeah, sure' I said with a smile, I really wasn't looking forward to starting a new school here; being the newbie...I just hope it's not as bad as they tend to depict it in the movies.
'Alright take care ladies, and Jess remember anything you need just ask' Mr. Johnson said grabbing his bag as he headed for the door after which Claire followed. I ran up to my room, took a shower and picked up my favorite book to pass the time.
'Jess' Claire called out knocking softly on the door
'Come in' I said and she opened the door halfway
'You ready' she asked
'Yeah' I said placing the book on a little table beside my bed, I put on a pair of trainers and we headed out.
It was about a twenty minutes' drive to the mall, it was literally the biggest mall I'd ever seen 'like this?' she asked pointing at a black hoodie
'Yeah' I answered, I really didn't need much but she insisted I got about five of those
'Let's head over to the shoes section' she said dragging me along, I guess she loves shopping cause she seemed really excited
There were lots of shoes it was surreal, but wait...OMG 'Its drew' I said out loud
'What?' Claire asked
'Nothing, umm I need to use the restroom' I lied but I just couldn't let him see me, I'm never lying again in my life
'It's that way, go straight and take the right' she directed and I literally ran, I waited 10 minutes and then when I felt it was safe I opened the door...
'Melissa!' he said with a surprised expression.
'Hey' I said masking a look of surprise
'I've been asking around for you but no one seems to know a Melissa Kane' he said with a smile, ok this guy truly is a psychopath; why would he go asking about for a total stranger
'I'm not so famous around here' I said biting my bottom lip in, I did that whenever I was nervous or frustrated
'At the airport I...' my phone rang, it was Claire 'Yes, I'm coming...' I said over the phone waving goodbye as I ran off, perfect get away
When I got back I picked whatever I could grab first, I hid myself behind the shelf to avoid being spotted by him 'You ok Jess' she asked cause I was acting strange ever since I got back from the bathroom 'Yeah, I think these will do' I said and we headed for the counter where she paid em and we left, I could finally breathe easy again
'You can do this' I told my reflection in the mirror, it was finally Monday and I was damn nervous, my palms were sweaty and I hadn't even gotten to school yet. I closed my eyes breathed in-out to relax and then headed downstairs where Claire was waiting with a girl about my age; She was a redhead, a little taller than I was, she had bright blue eyes, she basically looked flawless.
'Jess, this is Josephine; you'll be riding to school together and she'll put you through everything you need to know' she said
'Nice to meet you, you can call me Josie' she said flashing a set of sparkly white teeth in a smile which I returned
She filled me in on the do's and don'ts of the school, she was really talker
'I present to you, Hay High school...' she said elated as she parked '...you're going to love it' she added as we stepped out, the school was quite big; I could already see people staring at me
She showed me to the principal's office, where I got my schedules, we had almost every class together. I was introduced as the newbie at homeroom but it was a good thing Josie was there, she never left my side.
'Let's hurry, we don't want to be late for math' she said hastening up
When we got in everyone was staring at me as if they'd seen a ghost 'Just ignore them, they're going to have something else to talk about sooner than you think' Josie said biting a jelly stick, just then the math Teacher walked in and I couldn't believe my eyes.
'Drew' I said in unbelief.
