Rescue mission

Team 7 had been working smoothly. Everything back to normal. They have been doing D and C rank missions lately. Tsunade said they have to raise there stats if they want to do higher ranks missions. Besides that, they are still genin rank, even if they are strong, they still need to show that they had leadership skills before being promoted to chunin. Luckily for them the chunin exams are in the leaf this year in a couple of months. They can also be promoted if the jonin-sensei recommends them for chunin rank. That's what they are gunning for.

Right now they just got done with a D rank mission and are on there way to report and get a new mission. They knocked and when they heard a faint 'come in', Kakashi opened the door for them and walked in.

"Tending to lady Chizuru's garden mission is complete. Requesting another mission lady Hokage." Kakashi said, with his green book still in his face.

"Well done team 7. As for your other mission, it is a C rank. You are to find and escort a traveling merchant who is located near the border of fire and iron country. You are to bring this merchant to the leaf, he wishes to start business in these parts but fears that he will encounter some bandits on his way here." Tsunade debriefed there mission.

"When are we expected to be at the border?" Sakura asked

"In two days the merchant will arrive at the border. So be sure to get there before...."

"Lady Tsunade! Argent news! The Kazekage has been kidnapped by the Akatsuki!!!" Shizune said while panting, obviously from running to deliver the news.

"What!!!" Everyone voiced their disbelief.

Naruto was shocked when he heard this. Garra was in trouble. He was surprised, proud and a little jealous that Garra got the title of Kage before him. He and Garra grew up the same with the only difference being that he had friends while growing up, while Garra had no one. So he became Garra first friend just 3 years ago.

Then he got a serious look on his face. 'Garra has been kidnapped, but why, who are the akatsuki?'

"Team 7 change of plans. Your new mission is to help Suna with the retrieval of there Kage. Leave the gates in 10 minutes. Go!" Tsunade said and they all disappeared in shunshins.

3 hours later.

Temari was having a nice cup of tea and cookie at her favorite stop in order to take a break on her way to Suna. She was just about to pic up her cup when...

Crunch

The glass cracked and a chip of it fell of, Her hand stopped before it could touch the cup. 'What is this? A bad omen?' She then got up, payed her bill and walked out, deep in thought.

"Hey Temari!" Then she heard 3 landing sounds behind her after hearing a familiar voice calling out to her. She looked behind her to see Sakura, Kakashi and Naruto, who looked to be in a hurry.

"Hey guys, what's got you all in a hurry." Temari asked, while getting a bad feeling, but not showing it.

"It's Garra! He's been kidnapped by a group called the Akatsuki! We were givin a mission to help rescue him!" Naruto said, with clear urgency in his voice.

"What!? Garra was kidnapped! We have to go!" And with that, they made their way to the hidden Sand village. After 2 hours of running in the forest at top speed they finally made it to the desert, but they had to stop cause there was a sand storm so they will have to move in the morning.

They made it to the Sand 2 hours after Sun Rise. At the gate they saw two armed Sand Shinobi on the ground and around eight on top of the wall and four in between the walls that made up the entrance of the Sand village. One of the Shinobi saw them and ram towards them. He addressed them with a bow and faced Temari.
