Chapter 12 - how i escaped for a little bit

I sat in my room for a while, crying. It was actually nice to let everything out. I walked out onto my balcony and let the fresh air brush against my face. I needed to get out of here for a while. I went back in and grabbed my jacket and my cigarettes. I rushed out of the door without talking to anyone and headed down towards chets appartment. I lit up a cigarette and instantly felt the stress leave my body. It was only a five or so minute walk - When I reached his appartment I knocked impaitiently at the door.

'i'm coming!!!' he yelled from the other side

He opened the door and his face lit up when he saw me 'Rae!!' he said pulling me into a hug. He pulled back and looked into my eyes, instantly knowing something was wrong. 'Whats wrong' he said gently

I walked past him into his living room and collapsed onto the couches. 'Chet I think I want to move out' I said plainly

'What!?' he replied coming over to me, 'I thought you loved it?' 

I told him about jake and jack and reece and he just listened and held my hand softly. He was good with those types of things, he'd always listen until I was finished and back me up with whatever I did. 

'I don't think you should move out Rae, those boys love you to bits, all 8 of them and it'd break casey's heart man' 

He was right to be honest, it would break Casey's heart. He was so excited about me staying with him and it'd only been a little while. Chet made us some tea and we just talked and I got everything off my chest, and even though chet probably didn't understand my feelings with everything it was so relieving to just say them outloud and tell someone, anyone. 

My phone's ringtone went off a cute picture of me and casey popped up on the screen

Rae: Hello??

Casey: Rae!! where did you go! we were so worried, i've called you like 5 times have you not had your phone on?

Rae: sorry I'm at chet's and no it was on silent, I just needed to get out for a while

Casey: are you okay?

Rae: Yeah i'm fine now, what are you up to?

Casey: not much but we're going out tonight, do you want to come?

Rae: Yeah i'll come home to get ready so

I hugged chet goodbye and walked back home, having one last cigarette on my way back. When I came to the front door, I took a very deep breath and braced myself. I knocked on the front door because i'd rushed out so quick I didn't take my keys. Tom opened, thankfully

'Hey you' he said opening his arms

I swung into them. Tom was like a big brother. He laughed lightly my ear and said 'Rae i'm here for you okay' 

I went upstairs and heard everyone taking showers and drying their hair. I rushed to my room, hoping I wouldn't have to speak to reece or jake. 

I thankfully got there without having to see anyone and I rushed into the shower. I put on a backless lace black dress that was long sleeved. I was trying to look classy. I straightened my hair and put on my makeup. I then slipped into my red sole heels. I looked at myself in the mirror. I didn't feel as confident tonight, with everything going on my self esteem was low. I put on my dolce & gabbana purfume and left my room. It was surprising how I was the only girl in the house but I was still ready wayyy before any of the boys, and I had less time. 

I walked into the kitchen to see Casey and Jake at the fridge laughing. 

Jake looked longingly at me as I walked in.

'When are we leaving?' I asked

'As soon as they hurry up' Casey replied

'I'll go check on them' he continued and left

Shit, why did he leave me with jake.

'You look beautiful' Jake said coming closer to me

I smiled 'So do you princess' I replied trying to make it not awkward

He smiled at first and then it suddenly dropped from his face, he looked at the ground and then back at me, I could tell he wanted to talk serious now. 

'Have you talked to reece?' I asked

'No' he says moving closer again

'Are you going to?' i say raising my eyebrows a bit

'Why should I?' he replied taking a step back getting a bit pissed off

'You're best friends, you shouldn't let some girl come between that' I say softly, not wanting to make him mad

'You're not just some girl though' He replied softening his face

'Your still wearing it' he said as he touched my chest, holding the necklace

His touch gave me goose bumps. 

'Jake of course, we're mates, no matter what' I say instantly regretting how cringe I sounded

'HEY WE'RE READY LETS GO' casey yells popping his head through the door

Jake quickly kisses me on the cheek and we leave.
