Chapter 18 - how i didn't even care

I'd fallen asleep. I was woken super gently by jake's voice.

'Rae' 'Raaae' 'Babe' 'Rae' he whispered slowly into my ear. I opened my eyes to see him crouching next to me, giving me a weak smile.

'Barclay told me what happened' 

I sighed 'I told him not to for fucks sake' I said as I put my hand up to my head

'Rae it's ok it's only me!' He said sitting next to me

'Thats true' I said grabbing his hand, gently playing with it. I knew jake would understand.

'Where's reece?' I asked suddenly remembering everything.

Jake went silent. 'He's..gone..gone out with Tom to cool down a bit'

'Does he still hate me?' I asked wanting to cry

'No rae of course not, barclay told us all, and he feels so dumb and stupid and he doesn't know what to do so he said he'd go out just to give you space to breathe' He said gently rubbing my arm

'I love him jake' I said making sure he knew.

Jake layed with me and told me funny stories and actually made me laugh. He was such a good friend. 

We heard the front door open and the smell of take away fill our noses. We sat up and jake looked me in the eyes. I'll go out, you come out when you're ready ok?

I gave him a little smile and he left.

I went into barclays bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. It didn't look like I was crying too much anymore. I let my long hair down and brushed it with my fingers. I put on one of barclays grey hoodies and pulled my hair through. 

I prepped myself a bit and opened the door. I walked out and I could hear voices in the kitchen. I walked in and everyone turned to look at me. Except Reece. I sat down next to tom who rubbed me on the back. I tried to make eye contact with reece but he was having none of it. He walked out awkwardly, hands in his pockets, eyes glued to the floor. 

I heard him run up the stairs quickly and shut the door of his room. Everyone was looking at me silently, not sure of what to say. Not being able to sit there any longer I got up and followed reece.

I reached his room and knocked on the door before opening it slowly. The curtains were closed and he was under his blankets. 

'Reece?' I asked softly. no reply.

I walked over and crawled into the bed next to him and put my arm over his waist. I don't care what he said. I loved him, and i know he loved me. 

'Reece I'm sorry' I said moving closer to him

'Don't be sorry' he finally replied with a groggy voice

'I feel so fucking bad' he continues

'I should have let you finish, and I shouldn't have got mad anyway, I don't deserve you' he said as he turned to look at me

'Don't say that' I whispered as I stroked his hair

'I'm so fucking sorry' he repeated, almost crying, pulling me into his chest. His smell of mint filled my nose and I felt relaxed for the first time in hours. 

'I love you okay' I said looking up at him

'I love you so much' he replied kissing my forehead

'Now tell me everything?'
