Fuck!
My eyes were wide open and I was way too horrified and dead in embarrassment as well. My heart which was already beating faster, suddenly had started racing.
Never had I seen sug- Mr Collins from so close. I couldn't avert my eyes from his sharp features. I couldn't stop admiring him but when I saw the rage reflecting through his eyes, I reminded myself this was not the right time.
I looked at myself and cleared my throat.
"Umm, cake?" I raised my hand up offering the cake I hadn't finished.
A furious frown covered his forehead and he stared at me as if he would kill me. I shook my head. What the hell was I doing!
"Mr Collins-" Zoya behind me started but soon he raised his hand to cut her off and turned around.
I turned my head to look at Zoya and we both knew that this was going to be bad. Really bad. This was my second mistake in the same week.
I stepped back as all my sensory organs had stopped working. Suddenly, I felt my face getting warmer at the thought of what he caught me doing. I was so embarrassed. It all felt like déjà vu, especially the embarrassment.
"Darn it! We are dead." Zoya mumbled throwing my suit jacket at me. I placed the slice of cake beside the leftover and wiped my hand before fixing myself up.
"What do we do now?" I asked, afraid that I was surely going to get fired today.
"I don't know. Let's go." She mumbled, and we both rushed toward Mr Collins office.
With anxiety running through our veins, Zoya and I entered his office. He was standing near the balcony. His back was facing us. I let out a deep exhale and looked around. A voice in my head was telling me that I was going to get fired.
Zoya nudged me but I couldn't gather up the courage to even speak a word.
"May I come in, Mr Collins?" Zoya and I turned around to see Rose standing near the entrance of his office. I frowned at her and watching us, she raised her eyebrow.
"Yes, Ms Gibson." I turned my head to see Mr Collins walking toward his chair.
Rose already gave me a sympathetic look. Bitch already knew, we had already screwed up.
"Take a seat, please." He said.
Rose awkwardly looked at us and sat in front of him. I could tell she was already nervous. "How's your training going, Ms Gibson?" He asked.
"So far, it's good." She replied.
He nodded his head and briefly looked at Zoya and I. We stood at the corner waiting for his further action.
"What's the update of Ms Nasreen's pending promotion status?" He asked and I felt sorry for Zoya already.
"She's still being considered for the post of front office assistant manager." She said.
Zoya looked at me in confusion.
"Ms Nasreen, please return to your place. Luck break is already over." He said in that emotionless voice.
"I'm-" He raised his hand and gestured us to get out.
I dunked my head low and followed Zoya.
"Wait, Ms Abraham!" He said a little louder and I already knew I was going to be thrown out of here today.
I turned my head and looked toward him. He wasn't looking my way, instead he was looking at the file, Rose had in her hand.
"Ms Gibson, what should we do with an immature, disshelved and indisciplined intern?" He said looking at me.
