"Guys I have to go.Mom wants me home by six and its five thirty rynow,"Quincy said as she picked up her bag from the floor.
We said our goodbyes as she left.Just then Ell came into the house looking tired as hell.Her once clean dress now had dirt patches on it.She said hi to Tasha and me then went to her room."Where's she from looking like that,"Tasha asked reffering to Ell."Keith's,I think,"I said laughing,"he's a kid in her class .I think they're close.She's been going there quite often."Tasha continued typing on the laptop as I played temple run which had been connected to the TV.
One hour later Tasha was done and she had joined me on the game.Damn.She was bad.
"Dude!You know nothing about games,"I exclaimed laughing."You don't expect me to.I never play games.This shit is stupid af,"She said just as we finished another game.
"Comeon T,this stuff is so simple.It's just about making sure you dodge the obstacles and collect as many coins as possible,"I said as I played the game showing her."But why do the obstacles have to be there.Why can't I just have the coins and relax?It's not like after you win you are given anything,"She said as she put the gaming pad on the table and lay on her back on the couch closing her eyes."What's the point of the game if you are get the coins easily?You....you know what forget it."I said as I switched the TV back to the channels.She laughed. Hard.I knew she did that just to get on my nerves and it was working.
I spread my fingers on my forehead to massage my head as I sat beside her on the other seat.I checked the time and it was already seven o'clock.Ell came into the living with Aunt Jade behind her."Who's hungry really.I think we should just eat some snacks then go to sleep,"Everyone murmured yeah and she headed into the kitchen.
At eight we all sat to eat.She'd made popcorns and added cake the she'd baked the day before and some bottles soda."Anyone want anything else,kitchen,"
she said as she sat down."Aight,now let's pray."

Sunday morning.The sun shone bright just like all the other sundays.I could say it was looking good outside.Ell  had already left for church as I prepared myself. Tasha had  left early since her mom always wanted her together with her siblings to go to church at the same timeI slung my bag over my shoulder and left my room.Aunt Jade was just getting into the bathroom across the hall.At our place everyone went to church at their own time.We were all actually surprised the very first time mom had allowed us to since she never wanted us away from her eyes.I could swear the woman got hawk eyes.
I walked into the kitchen and sat at the bar stool grabbing a pancake and a cup of warm coffee.I checked the time on my wrist watch.It was nine thirty which was just ok since it gave me thirty minutes to take breakfast.
By ten forty five I was sitted in the second last pew on the column listening to Pastor Ben spread the gospel.He was preaching about Faith and Taking your stand in God.That reminded me of how some of us youths  had turned our backs from the one God who'd seen us through alot of stuff.
Personally I was really thankful for Sir God because he usually saw me through stuff even when I didn't deserve it.The service was quite lively so I didn't get bored.Pastor Ben was done with his sermon when the congregation stood up to sing.We had been singing when I felt like someone was staring at me.It was like the longer they stared the more the sensation of something hitting grew.So out of curiosity I turned my head.I was surprised when I saw Lucas waving at me with a smile.I waved back smiling the I rememberd I was in church.After that I now felt like time was moving slow and the service was taking longer than normal.

Comeon Sister Grace. Hurry abit.A girl's gotta go.

I said to myself as Sister Grace made the weekly announcements.Thank God this week there was no youth meeting.As soon as she was done Pastor Ben got on the podium and we all stood."And may the grace,"he started closing prayer as we all joined in greeting hands and smiling as we bid each other goodbye.Just as I walked out I bumped into someone my bag slipping of my shoulder onto my arm."Oh my God.I'm so sorry."I said as I pulled the bag back to my shoulder and looked up to see who it was."No-noah,"I stuttered,"I-i didn't know you pray,"I said looking up at his brows.With my 5'7 height,he was a bit taller than me but not that much.Looking into people's eyes always made me feel intimidated so I used a trick of looking at the eyebrows and it seemed to work pretty fine.
"Ye-yeah I do.I've been here fo-for about ten years now."

"Woaw.That is quite a long time.This is only my third year."

"No wonder I've seen you very few times,"he said in a low voice as if he was speaking to himslef though I wasnt sure I'd heard correctly.

"Sorry what?"

"Nothing.Anyway you going somewhere else or just home?"

"Home.My mom would just freak out and kill me if I went somewhere  else without her knowledge,"

"Okay,that already says alot about her,"he said laughing,"well then would you mind if I walk you home?"
I was shocked beyond words.I only stared at him my eyes wide.Was he really asking to walk me home.Like seriously.Then I burst out laughing.I had a bad habit of laughing when I didn't know how to react or when I felt like someonewas prying into my business too much.I could say it was my coping mechanism.We all had one.Right?
Right?
He looked at me with a confused look on his face."Did I say something funny?"he asked and I quickly nodded my head no."Soooooo?"
"You being serious rynow?"

"Yeah.Do I look like I'm joking?"

"Ok,but I don't even know you.Literally  nothing.I mean I only met you like  yesterday.In the afternoon infact.I've practically known you for less than twenty four hours.Why do you even want to walk me home in the first place?"I came to a stop after I realized I was rambling.

"Damn.Ok.How about I walk you home as we talk.You could vote me from there if you want to be friends.I mean what's the worst that could happen?"

"Oookkk.Lets go then?"I said as I adjusted my bag.We walked to the gate just the Lucas appeared by my other side. "Hey Moe,Noah,"He said smiling at both of us giving Noah a manly nod.

"You guys know each other?"
"Kinda but not well,"Noah answered.
We had been walking for a while and everyone had been wierdly quiet.I tried lightening up the mood by starting a conversation."So Noah,where do you go to school?Lucas and I attend Barkridge High."
I asked turning to him and he immediately answered."I also go there "

"How come I've never seen you?I've been there for like two years now?"

"I'm not known much and also I'm a grade below you so chances of you seeing me are quite low."

"Oh."
We had gotten to a corner and Lucas waved goodbye as he walked away.

We kept on walking doing small talk as he asked about my life before we moved.Since I'd not known him I just told him where we stayed and we moved because my mom had got a new job.What.You did not expect me to pour my life to him even though it was boring.The fun part was only that I'd spent half of my junior studies in a
boarding school.I also learnt that he had a younger brother who was ten and they stayed with his cousin Charles who was twenty two.It seemed kind of a full fun house to me.His parents were not home pretty much beacuse of work but they were awsome according to him.

Just as he was telling me about him joining the soccer team two years ago,I noticed we were approaching  my house.We came to as stop as I we got closer to the door."Well we're here.Thanks for the walk,I really had thought you were messing with me,"I said as I stood at walked closer to the door."Why would I?"I shrugged my shoulders."C-can I a-ask you a question,"
I nodded my head curiously."Shoot."
"Why are you ner-nervous a-around me?"he asked looking at me as if searching for something."M-me nervous?"I tried sounding normal my voice giving me out big time."Why would I be?I mean I've got the confidence of a peacock"I put on my best smile with my head held up high my voice going back to normal."I don't know.Maybe that's why I'm asking?"he gave me an 'isn't it obvious' look but my smile didn't break."Anyway never mind.
It was nice walking you home. So See you at school?"He said as I opened the door.
"Yeah sure,"I said uncertain.He stood there as I got then turned taking the road that we'd come with and disappeard at the corner  up ahead.

Ok.Well that was wierd.

I got in and surveyed the room to make sure nobody had seen him.Especially Ell.
