7: The Agreement

"Did a full 180,"

AFTER A LONG and insufferable day at work. Taehyung crashes on his cold leather couch and stares at the envelope on the coffee table, he hasn't opened it yet. He thought he would rather get upset at the contents in the comfort of his apartment (a guide by Jisoo) He sighs in exhaustion as Jisoo's words run through his head.

"Oh-" She says after handing the contract to Taehyung. "I suggest you open this at home." Taehyung was uncertain but agreed nonetheless. He stares at the back of her head as she walks to her desk to continue her work.

Taehyung lets out a deep breathe he had been holding in, as picks up the envelope. It was unnecessarily heavy, opening it he pulls out a freshly copied stack of paper. It looked like it had been typed out by a lawyer, Taehyung wanted to laugh, 'of course its professionally made' Why did he think it would be only be two or three pages in length? Jisoo gave him a fifty paged document, he felt his soul leave his body.

He despises extremely long documents, only because he would get distracted mid-way, and procrastinate. Taehyung read it anyway, the document basically cemented what they had agreed upon the night before, this time with extra precaution that would him zero loopholes to get through. He silently praised her, Jisoo must have really wanted his position to go through such lengths to ensure that once he left Jisoo would have taken over.

He did not mind, she was good at her job, better than most of the interns that worked under him before. Taehyung knew that she had the skills and talent to keep the company afloat once he left.

Paging through the final section of the document,

RELATIONSHIP STATUS

He eyed the bold letters and took a breathe before continuing.

(a) i. The beginning of said relationship should be kept simple as to avoid complex questions. "Kim Taehyung and Kim Jisoo met at work and developed a romantic relationship".

ii. If Kim Taehyung's Mother questioned the reason for the relationship, the answer should always be, "Kim Taehyung took an interest in Kim Jisoo because of her beauty"

Taehyung stopped reading, placed the document down. He picked up his phone and pressed on her contact.

Jisoo felt her phone vibrate against her coffee table, she stifled a laugh, she expected that Taehyung would have called her up after seeing the Relationship section of her document. She let out a breath before answering,"State your complaints," she said calmly.

Taehyung tried to keep calm himself,"The section (a) part two of Relationship Status,"

"Yes?"

"Remove it," He replies.

"Im afraid that is impossible," Jisoo says. "If I have to remove it, it then ends this 'relationship'. Take it or leave it."

Taehyung ended the call without saying anything, Jisoo winning this argument by default. He moved on to Kakaotalk and typed a simple "FINE" and sent it to Jisoo.

It was not the end of the world if he had admitted that he found Jisoo attractive. Without bothering to read the rest of the document, he paged to the end and found a:

SIGN HERE

Taehyung signed on the straight line and closed the booklet.

'So what if I called her attractive'
