"Like an arrow in the blue sky"

THE FOLLOWING DAY went on as normal, which bothered the both of them immensely, but at the same time neither of the pair decided to break the ice. Taehyung gave Jisoo the envelope without saying a word. She was expecting him to scold her, the silence was so much worse.

Taehyung had no idea how to tell Jisoo that their first public appearance was going to be the following week, at his sister's wedding. He had received the reminder not so long after he had already signed the agreement. He should've held onto signing it after her wedding. Not only did he have to play nice with his sisters fiancé, but he also had to pretend he was head over heels in love with his assistant, create a back story that didnt seem like your usual corny office lovers, while making it believable.

He wanted the ground to swallow him whole. Taehyung removed his eyes from the documents in front of him. He looked at Jisoo who was typing away ather keyboard, "Miss Kim?" He called out. Jisoo's head spun to where she heard her name. "Yes?"

Taehyung exhaled and thought, fuck it, "Are you free next week?" Jisoo's eyes widen in shock, he asked this so suddenly, she was caught off guard.

"Uhㅡ"  She trails off, thinking if she had anything planned. Unfortunately she was single (technically) and never left the house, so she was practically free, always. "I am, why do you ask?" Taehyung saw her eyes sparkle. "Is this a da-"

"No." He cuts her sentence, knowing exactly where she was going to steer this conversation. Jisoo sucked her teeth in response to being cut off so rudely. "My sister got engaged a year ago." He starts off, pretending to ignore Jisoo's death stares from across the room.

Jisoo pulled her eyes away from Taehyung, still muttering curse words under her breathe. She tried to remember who his sister was, she barely knew anything about his sister eventhough Jisoo practically met almost everyone in his immediate family. His sister was the one person he never introduced Jisoo too.

Jisoo recalls her name being, Jennie. She saw pictures of her scattered across Taehyung's library. Jennie's sharp eyes always in Jisoo's mind, she was beautiful, no doubt that she would have marriage proposals left and right. Jisoo turned back to Taehyung, his eyes coldly staring back at her. They were definitely related,  their stares could cut glass.

"Her wedding is next week." He stated calmly.

"Ohㅡ"

"If you are too uncomfortable, I will tell them you were sick-"

"NO. DO NOT WORRY. I WILL BE THERE"
