I wake up and an ear-piercing scream left my lips as I hold my stomach and head. It was dark outside which meant, that I was starting my shift.

Koda and Damien came running in as I clutch my body in pain, curling up into a small ball.

"This isn't her heat?" Damien asks Koda

Koda shakes his head looking down as a whimper leaves me and I hold myself tighter.

"We need to take her to Old Major," Koda tells Damien

"Why?" Damien asks

"I'm not the person to answer that question, but we have to go," he says

Damien immediately reaches for me and carried me bridal style while tears stream down my face, "I-I'm s-s-sorry," I said through tears

"Don't speak, it can wait," Damien says before shifting, while somehow not dropping me

I laid on his back with my arms wrapped around the torso of his wolf. He zoomed off to Old Major's house with Koda following as close as he could behind us, while trying to keep up with his Alpha.

Damien brought me in on his back and Old Major came as a loud whimper leaves me again. Old Major...picked me up.

For an old guy, he sure is strong.

He carried me upstairs and places me inside a cold huge bath, already filled with water as I scream, arching my back from the pain spreading throughout my body.

Damien and Koda had went to quickly put on clothes and I watch as they walk back into the room while Old Major sits on a chair.

"What's wrong?" Damien ask Old Major

"She still hasn't told you?" Old Major asks him shaking his head at me

"She tried to say something yesterday, after I marked her, but she fell asleep," he explains to Old Major

Old Major looked at me for permission and I winced before nodding swiftly.

"Your mate is the youngest fox spirit," he tells Damien who looks back at me

Another scream left my lips and I started forcefully shifting. It was more painful than my first shift because my fox was no longer the size of a baby fox.

I finally shifted after like 3 minutes of me whimpering in pain as my bones slowly clicked into place.

I was always a small fox and I'm still considered small, but my orange color was brighter and my legs were white, but my paws were black.

I looked at Damien who only looked back at me in shock, what I didn't expect was for me to start shifting again, this one being less painful, but more confusing and a wave of power washed over me.

I shifted back to human, but was still shifting, what I didn't expect was when my legs webbed together and they soon turned into an orange tail, like a mermaid tail.

When I finally finished my entire shift I did something, that I just had inpulses to do. I raised my hand and watched as a ball of water went into my hand and it showed my fox who winked at me.

I dropped the water and a sigh left my lips as I now felt, hungry, and had a headache.

"You had a power shift," Old Major said, "And survived,"

My eyes widen and a gasp leaves my lips and I looked right back down at my tail. The scales glistened inside the bath and my hand broke through the water and watched as the water parted for me and my tail had no water on it or on the sides.

I touched my tail which felt slightly slimy, before I moved it.

"I got water powers?" I question myself quietly

"You sure did, the same power Janet," Old Major says

Janet, the one fox spirit that die because of the second half of her shift and I didn't.

I looked over at Damien who leaned against the wall with his arms crossed and his eyes a burning red, while Koda was looking between us warily,

"I tried to tell you," I start off

"Summer you've been here for almost a month," his voice was laced with Dominic's

"I know, Jasmine, just-" I cut myself off with a sigh, "I'm sorry,"

"Yeah, you will be," he mumbled to himself, but both Old Major and I heard and exchanged glances with each other.
