Chapter Seven
::Andy’s Point of View::
As we sit in silence I study Louis. He hasn’t changed much since the real last time I've seen him. His eyes have always been a light green/blue colour, but right now they look almost grey. His brown hair even looks dull.
I came here tonight because this is where I usually go to clear my head; it was a total surprise to me when I saw shoes and other things that showed someone living here. The room I usually use if I decide to stay the night is the one Louis’ using, that’s why I knew that there was a door in there. All the times I've been here in the past I haven’t gone snooping in any of the other bedrooms other than to see if there's anything new. There never is.
I sip on my tea and Louis flinches as if he's gone out of a trance.
“You okay, Lou?” I ask calmly. He tries for a smile but only the edges of his mouth twitch a bit.
“Y-Yeah,” he stutters, not fooling me at all. I sigh and stand up, grabbing everyone’s full cups and dumping them down the drain.
“Should we get them to bed or leave them here?” I ask Lou, noticing that all his friends are either asleep or pretty close to it.
“Would you mind..?” he asks me, slowly picking a sleepy boy with curly hair up. What's his name again, Harry? I nod and lightly prod the darker skinned man sitting next to me, trying to wake him up enough so he can walk to his room.
“Mmm…” he moans, turning his head to face me. I bend down and get eye level with him.
“You need to get to your room, or you'll stay at the table all night,” I tell him, and his eyes open slightly allowing me to see that they're dark brown.
“Who are you?” he asks drowsily. I chuckle lightly and help him up, leading him to the stairs.
“Can you make it to your room?”
“Yeah,” he tells me, more awake than before. He looks me up and down quickly before licking his lips and walking up the stairs.
By the time I get back to the table, only one is left, meaning Louis must’ve taken the blonde up the other stairs. I think this one’s name is Liam… I walk over to him and see that he's not quite asleep. “Hey… Liam? You awake?”
He starts and opens his eyes in surprise, then closes them again. “Louis, you scared me…”
Louis? He thinks I'm Louis? Okay, maybe he is asleep… “Uh, sorry, Liam, but I'm not Louis. Can you get up?”
“Yea, yea, just don’t lie to me Lou,” he stands up but his legs buckle and I catch him. I may be tall, but this shorter man is heavy…
“Okay, sure. Let’s get you to bed…” I mutter and practically carry him to the stairs. When I came here tonight, I wasn’t really expecting to carry a full grown man up a flight of stairs… but that’s exactly what I do. Louis is still upstairs with whoever’s left or he's crashed, and I don’t really want this Liam boy to be left alone down here.
“Which one’s yours?” I ask. He just sleepily replies, ‘Yes’. Sighing I tote him to each room, finally finding the empty one – his – at the end of the hall. I open the door and drag him to the bed.
Throwing over the covers, I take his shoes off and leave them near the door. I lift his feet onto the bed then cover him up haphazardly with the blanket and turn to leave. He mumbles something before I get there though, and curiosity makes me turn back.
“What was that?”
“Love you, Lou,” I lightly close the door, turn around, and calmly walk to Lou's room. The whole while I'm wondering things like, He meant that in a friendly way, right? Nothing more… right? I don’t have any real feelings for Louis, not anymore, so I'm not sure why I even care how he meant it. I guess I still worry for Lou.
