“Gooood morning, Sleeping Beauty!” Ryom sang as the opened door revealed a half-asleep lady, glaring at him, ready to bite his head off.He danced his way inside and found a wrinkled blanket on the floor. "The clinic would be a good place to sleep, I see."
Elyssi just glared at him and grumbled about him needing to stitch his mouth close and how they only open at nine o'clock so it wasn't necessary for him to arrive this early.
“Well, if I wasn’t so kind, you would’ve been fired eons ago,” he winked at her before bringing out his box of donuts he bought on the way to their clinic.
Both were dentists on a Romero Dentals branch. Fortunately, or not, they were located quiet on the countryside, so most of their patients were mostly those with multiple digits on their back accounts.
And yes, as you may have guessed, the business belonged to none other than Ryom’s family. It was started by his father, who was now retired and well, dead. The ownership was passed down onto his eldest, Sergio.
Minutes later, Elyssi came back, all washed up. Ryom was already on her kitchen table.
She started living in the clinic since a year ago because commuting is such a 'hassle.'
The dentist was actually good friends with the Romero family so when she requested Ryom that the place be renovated for her to live in, she wasn’t denied. They even helped her with the expenses even though she refused. Papers of ownership and stuff were even fixed in court to avoid possible trouble in the matter.
Elyssi looked at what the male fixed on the table, donuts and coffee, like yesterday, and the other yesterday, and three more yesterdays. Ryom brings different type of food each week and they had donuts and coffee for the past five days. Being actually concerned about their health, Elyssi decided to cook fried rice and eggs.
Minutes later, the smell of delicious food filled the air.
Ryom, took the hint and placed the donuts inside the fridge, leaving the coffee on the table.
More minutes later, the food was already served.
The man prayed for the food, a good habit he had all his life. After that, both happily dug in. Well, at least, Ryom was, Elyssi was staring at him, still amazed at how the food was basically vacuumed by his tummy.

“I still don’t get how you would want to sleep on the floor rather than your bed.” Ryom groaned as he was helping his coworker clean up her mess of crumbled, fallen chips last night.
“Just be quiet and help me clean this faster, its already 8:49.”
Ryom tried to reason with her, insisting that the clinic was wide so the patients can sit somewhere else that they don't have to clean that particular spot.
However, after receiving a threatening glare, he went back to work, with more willpower than before.
Today wasn't like most days, they only had three patients visiting them, on most occasions, they'll be like seven and above.
“Thank you for coming!” Elyssi gleefully bade farewell to their last patient of the day. It was their friendly neighbor of five blocks apart, Mrs. Domingo.
Ryom smirked, “or are you thankful she’s just the third patient for today?” He went laughing, “You sure are a lazy worker.”
“And you sure are a pig. Must you take a snack break like every five minutes?” she growled, glaring at the chocolate at his hand and continued, "and must you take my food instead of buying your own?"
