Chapter 2

Mariah POV

As I stare at my ring I can't help but think wow, I've found the love of my life. It's hard to believe that after my ex disappeared, I thought I would never find love again, until I met Jaxon. Though I was very skeptical about dating and getting close to someone again. My parents and friends still encouraged me to get out there when I was ready. But I guess you could say I followed in my mom's footsteps, with being in the medical field. She's actually a doctor and has her own practice that her and my little sister run together. She actually has a few practices, she mainly works at the one in New York since that's where she's from. Since my mom is an only child her parents supported her through all her schooling.

My dad aka my main man he's a well known business man. But don't let him fool you even though he's book smart he's also street smart. That's actually how he started getting his money in his early years. Now he has several companies now including a few car dealerships, oil companies, insurance. And he's also still involved with the street stuff but not as much. I guess you could say he gets his work ethics from his parents, his mom is white from England and his dad is black from California. I know what you all are thinking how did my grandad get her, he said they met at an airport in Florida and where instantly drawn to each other. And that's what I loved about there story they didn't know one another but they didn't let that stop them. They are actually one of the reasons I wanted to get back out there to date again.

I remember the day I told my friends and sister  that I wanted to start dating again.

Flashback

It was my first weekend off in weeks so I called up everyone to see what their plans were. We had all decided to go do some shopping. So I cleaned my place up and went upstairs to get ready. I decided to do a simple outfit but with light make up. After I put on my shoes my doorbell rang, I looked at everyone and said damn we look good let's roll.

Hours of shopping later we decided to go get lunch at a restaurant near the mall. After we all got to the restaurant we got seated and told our waitress what we wanted to drink. So while we were waiting I said to the girls, I think I'm ready to get back out there to date again. So Natasha said it's about damn time and I just laughed. Than Tiffany in only her true self said and I quote "Gurllll bout time cause I know that puss needs some male attention, I know ya fingers and toys are tired". At the same time Sabrina looked at me and was like "I'm glad cause I'm tired of your crazy moods you need that cat sucked and them guts stirred. When I say I literally had to spit my drink out laughing, cause it was funny but they was dead ass serious.
