Chapter 23

Jaxon's POV

I left out of my office to go upstairs to start packing but before I could get upstairs I heard our doorbell ringing. Turning around I walked to the door but not before looking on my phone at the cameras. It was my parents which was a surprise since they didn't tell me they were stopping by. Opening the door my mom walked in first and then my dad hugging them both. My mom asked where was Mariah I said upstairs packing so she left us to go help her. Meanwhile I took my dad back to my office, walking in he told me to have a seat because he had something important to tell me. When I sat down he said to me that he was soon going to be retiring and that it was time for me to start the process of stepping up as head of the family.

I knew this day was coming but I didn't think it would be this soon. Being the head of a mafia was a lot of work but I was ready for it. So once my dad and I finished our conversation I ended up telling him about the whole child support situation. Of course he was mad because he said I should've came to him sooner and it could've been over with already but I assured him that I had it under control. So after a while my parents left and I went to get my packing done. I can't wait for this nice time of relaxation because once we came back it was time to get down to business.

Omniscient POV

Wrapping up last minute things it was time for Mariah and Jaxon to head to the jet for their honeymoon. Both waiting with excitement to see what was in store for the next two weeks.

(Time Jump)

Mariah's POV

We have been here for a week and it's been completely wonderful. Jaxon told me that tonight would be a little different so I'm a little nervous on what is going to happen. I had just finished putting on my clothes when I heard the bell ringing that someone was at the door. Walking to the door I looked through the peep hole before asking who it was because I couldn't see. I had grabbed my gun out my bag because nobody said anything. Before I could ring for security the door had opened and Jaxon had came in but what surprised me was Elijah was standing behind him.

Jaxon's POV

I had gotten up early after answering my phone that Elijah had just landed. After doing my hygiene routine and getting dressed I grabbed my phone and headed out the door to the car. Even though I still had thoughts running through my mind, I knew this had to happen for us all to move forward. I had a few plans up my sleeve for how tonight would go.

Elijah's POV

Looking out the jet window  I couldn't help but think that things are really about to change. At first when Jaxon first brought the idea to me I thought what the fuck is he thinking. But after thinking it over and talking with him I knew it was something that had to happen, regardless of the outcome. Through it all I still deeply cared for Mariah and love her too. But we will see how things are about to go. After getting out of my thoughts I heard the attendant say that we would be landing in about ten more minutes. I downed the drink I had and got ready for us to land. Once we landed on the strip I saw two black SUVs waiting and I knew one of them had to be Jaxon. I said a small prayer before getting off that everything was going to work out fine.

(Meanwhile back at the Villa)

Mariah's POV

I was beside myself like my brain and thoughts were working overtime. I couldn't help but think would this be a mistake?. But after some deep thoughts I knew this conversation had to happen. I mean don't get me wrong I love the hell out of Jaxon, but a part of me still has love for Elijah. At first I didn't want to but after seeing and talking to him, those feelings and love resurfaced. After getting dressed I went downstairs to go over the menu for tonight to make sure everything would be perfect. But I just know after tonight things will never be the same. Snapping out of my thoughts I heard the bell ring for the door. Walking over I asked who is it but didn't hear anything. I went to look through the peep hole but didn't see anything so I went into my bag to grab my gun and alert security. A second later before doing so the door had opened and in walked Jaxon. But what surprised me the most was that Elijah was walking in right behind him.

What will happen on this trip?
