good hit-woman, y/n's research and dedication didn't stop at just observing. She figured it was time to rent an apartment across from his and dig deep into his online presence. She sat in the cramped bedroom and opened her laptop. Her burner phone was right next to her in case her employer called with more specific details.
Dick Grayson, she typed in and with the first google search she found what she already knew. 'Flying Graysons Die In An Act Gone Wrong' and other gossip articles about Bruce Wayne taking him in.
Y/n dug a little harder, finding a more recent but dormant social media account. She clicked on his images and analyzed them.
She went through his Instagram posts and anything he was tagged it. She read through his tweets and even looked at his online dating profiles.
He's a bachelor, he's smart— cocky nonetheless.
She needed a way to get close with him, put herself in his life so he wouldn't forget her, something that forced them to be together.
Sighing, she looked at her watch and then made her way to her balcony to see one Dick Grayson leaving for work. Y/n gathered her equipment and shoved it into a backpack as the burner cell rang.
"Hello?" She held it to her ear as she made her way out of her apartment building. There was only breathing on the other end.
"Is this y/n?" It was a man's voice, deep and stern, she recognized it as her employer for this gig.
"Yes." Y/n answered, "is there anything else you need me to do?" She wondered as he only chuckled through the line.
"How much longer will it take before Mr. Grayson is finished?" He asked and she walked on the sidewalk to his apartment. She bit her lip and ran a hand through her hair.
"I can assure you sir, he won't be around much longer." She sighed again, "these things take time."
She was now standing inside the elevator, on her way up, tapping her foot impatiently.
"Don't forget how much money is on line for you,
y/n." He reminded and her she shallowed, frantically pacing the shaft."I told you sir, all in good time." The man on the other line huffed and hung up. Y/n closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She walked along the hallway, reading the number of each door until she came across the one that belonged to Dick Grayson.
In her pocket was a master key that could supposedly open any door. At first she was skeptical but her hesitation washed away when the door swung open.
She rushed inside and opened her backpack, taking out the small secret cameras. Y/n quickly placed them in spots she couldn't see from outside.
Before she left, though, y/n took a look at his house. Somewhere normal, a sanctuary after a long day, something she never had growing up or even now.
Nevertheless, she needed to get out of there. She picked up her backpack and rushed out, locking his door behind her.
