Her apartment
felt colder now that she was in it. Grocery bags sat at her feet as she transferred the secret ingredient from the vial to the ring.

Y/n quickly hid the bottle just in case, taking a deep breath she carried the bags a building over to Dick's loft.

She turned on the oven, prepping her ingredients. She worked hard over the stove to make sure it tasted so good, he wouldn't notice the poison.

While y/n poured the soup into the bowls she noticed something on the fridge as had just spiked Dick's serving.

A to-do list written by Dick Grayson along with a calendar.

The calendar seemed normal, he'd marker down 'Wayne Charity Fundraiser' and 'Barbs' birthday."

For a second, the to-do list was normal. Things like; pick up dry cleaning, fix lamp but then her eyes stumbled across the last thing on the list.

Ask out y/n

Her heart stopped and the door opened. She held the poisoned soup in her hand but when she watched Dick come in with a smile, she had an out of body experience.

Should would've blamed it on sole panic, but y/n knew what she was doing.

She dropped the bowl of soup, causing it to shatter on the floor. She just risked everything for him and she didn't even know if it was the right decision.

Dick quickly put down his dry cleaning as he rushed to her side. Y/n had fallen down onto the ground, crying hysterically.

He tried to wrap his hands around her but she flinched away. She started apologizing but he could barely make out what she was saying.

"I'm not mad, it's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you." He tried to sooth her, which only made her cry harder.

She looked at him through blurry eyes, letting him wrap his arms around her.

Dick didn't know what the girl had been through and trying not to stress her out he took her to sit on the couch, wrapping her in a blanket.

Y/n's hands shook as Dick cleaned up the mess. I need to get out of here, she thought. Her plans to go off the grid were affective as of now.

She closed her eyes, only imagining what would've happened if she hadn't dropped the bowl. She thought about the dream she had the other night, and the moment her and Dick shared over tea.

He came next to her with a glass of water,
"hey, how are you feeling?" He asked as y/n shrugged, not saying anything.

She graciously took the glass and drank it, trying to avoid conversation but with Dick, it was almost impossible.

"Don't feel bad about the bowl." He said, sitting on the arm chair across from her. Y/n shook her head.

"I can't stay with you any longer, I'm sorry." She looked down, which made Dick upset.

"Y/n I swear, it doesn't matter if you broke a bowl, I break stuff all the time!" He put his hands up in defence. Realizing he raised his voice, he took a deep breath. "Truth he told, I really like having you around."

She placed her glass on the coffee table. "I don't have a choice, I have to leave." She said sternly, trying not to show any emotion. Dick huffed.

"Fine, at least stay the night. I don't want you out there in the cold." He stated and y/n knew she couldn't argue. Dick was too nice to let her just vanish.

"Fine but I'll be gone in the morning." She mentioned and Dick tightened his jaw, looking down at her.

The two stood up and stared into each others eyes in silence.

Gently, Dick pulled y/n into a hug, holding the back of her head, pressing his lips and nose to the top of her forehead. He didn't want her to go.
