Y/n stood
in line for an early morning coffee but it wasn't by accident that she was there. Everything was going according to plan.

Last night she had watched Dick Grayson squirm in his apartment, dazed and confused; questioning his charm. She had gotten into his head.

Café Brasserie sold some of the best coffee in Blüdhaven, at least that's what Dick thought, she had seen a handful of cups scattered around his home.

She kept her head up, her purse close as she waited. Y/n heard a sigh from behind her and she pressed her lips together. Dick Grayson—right on time.

Now, he was right behind her and she could feel him watching her with a careful eye. If she knew Dick as well as she has researched, he would try to make a move on her. It would be a way for him to make up for his poor results as Nightwing.

"Hey." His voice was on cue. Y/n kept her head high as she looked behind her.

"Do I know you, officer?" She glanced at his badge, acting just as she had last night. A part of her also didn't have to act. She'd seen guys like Dick before and they weren't fun to be around.

"Uh, no I guess you don't." He scratched the back of his neck, with an embarrassed expression. "So is this your first time at Brasserie?"

Y/n blinked, looking at the counter with the menu.
"Yeah, I'm new to Blüdhaven." She stated, sticking to her cover. Y/n was suppose to be a business major from Central City who dropped out to peruse her passion; painting.

Dick smiled at her and on the inside she was hurling. "Oh yeah. Where'd you move from?" He put his hands in his hips, thinking that he had won her over.

"Apple cinnamon tea for y/n!" The barista called out and she moved forward, leaving the detective behind her.

She picked up the burning hot cup, sliding a five dollar bill over the counter, mumbling to keep the change.

"So that's your name? Y/n? It's pretty." Dick stated and y/n stared at him blankly. Slowly, she nodded, blowing the steam off her warm drink.

"I'm Dick." He extended his hand to her. I know, y/n thought in her head but she gripped onto his hand anyways.

The barista called him up next and he had to leave the girl alone. When he turned around to offer her his number, she had already left the cafe, rushing down the street with a cell phone to her ear.

He sighed, looking at the time, he had to get to work. He couldn't decide wether he was attracted to her or if he hated her.

And that made her interesting.
