• In the morning, when y/n woke up, her muscles ached and for a second she forgot where she was. But when it dawned on her that she was in Wayne Manor, she didn't want to leave her bed.
With the ankle monitor still tightly suffocating her ankle, she was embarrassed to face anyone. She barely even knew if Dick was still there, or if he had returned to Blüdhaven.
Her stomach grumbled, as she swung her legs over to the edge of the bed. She scratched her head, rubbing her eyes. It seemed to early to function.
Y/n didn't bother to get dressed, as she walked down the grand staircase. The manor was a labyrinth of hallways and she tried her best to find the kitchen without getting lost.
The rooms smelt like old curtains and antics until it got muffled with the smell of pancakes and bacon.
"Good morning, Miss..." The english butler started by stopped as he didn't know her name. Y/n sat down at the kitchen island introducing herself.
"Well good morning Miss y/n." He placed a plate in front of her, "would you care for some pancakes and bacon?" The smell of the food had already filled her stomach, she hadn't eaten a good hearty breakfast in a long time.
"Sure." He slid two pancakes and some pieces of bacon onto her plate as she drizzled syrup onto her breakfast. She silently ate, chewing her food and watching Alfred Pennyworth make a large meal that seemed like no one would eat.
From behind her, she heard footsteps as she twisted her head to see who was walking. Y/n almost choked on her pancakes when she saw Dick Grayson.
He paused to look at her, not saying anything as he took a set next to her. Her lips twisted around as y/n looked up, avoiding any eye contact.
"Mornin'" He greeted, Alfred placing a plate in front of him. She didn't respond, only playing with her plate.
"Shouldn't you be in Blüdhaven?" Y/n asked and Dick leaned back into his chair, shaking his head.
"I'm using up my vacation time for this case." By case he was referring to the task of tracking down the man who hired her. Y/n nodded, finishing her breakfast in silence.
Another pair of footsteps rushed into the kitchen, both of them turned to see Bruce Wayne, holding that day's newspaper. He nodded towards the pair, acknowledging their presence.
"We start today, we're going to need as much time as possible to find this man." He stated and y/n nodded. Bruce placed the paper on the counter, drinking his coffee.
Y/n yawned lightly, putting her plate in the sink. She didn't know what she was going to do all day, in this huge house basically alone. She didn't have any clean clothes either. As the butler poured her some orange juice, she zoned out, looking directly at Dick, wishing they would have met in different circumstances.
