🎶 Been traveling these wide roads for so long

My heart's been far from you

Ten-thousand miles gone 🎶

The one thing that we are all guaranteed in life is death.

It can be expected or unexpected, but eventually, it will happen.

Everyone in the funeral home felt numb as they listened to the officiant ramble on about how short life was, and how they needed to cherish each day that god allowed them to see.

"Just because he woke you up this morning don't mean he'll do it tomorrow," he stated.

"We need to stop thinking we have time,"

Everyone nodded in unison while some were still and silent from the shock.

"There's this quote that I live by...it goes a little something like..."If you didn't love me when I was here, don't love and miss me when I'm gone."

"PREACH!" An old lady jumped up and shouted.

"I know I keep repeating myself, but y'all we have to start cherishing everyday that we're here, and loving people while they are here! We sit around and take our days for granted but we really need to be worried about who's next?"

Who's next?

"I'm not saying to live everyday in fear of when you're gonna go...But I want y'all to ask yourselves this. If you died tomorrow, would you be satisfied with the life you've lived? Content with the impact that you've left on this world?"

The officiant followed his testimony with a few songs from the choir to wrap up the service.

The selected pallbearers slowly made their ways onto the right and left side of the casket.

As they aligned, their white gloved hands slowly grabbed onto the casket, lifting it off of the bier.

The mourners slowly stood to honor the fallen as the casket was wheeled out to the song Something About the Name Jesus.

"As it is stated in the obituary, burial and interment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. We are asking that only family and close friends of the family be allowed to exit first so that they are able to reach the hearse and limos please,"
