CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Iroh woke us up early the next morning and a carriage came to pick us up. When we got to the palace we stepped out looked at the large palace admiring it from the outside.

   "Many times I've imagined myself here. At the threshold of the palace." Iroh said. "But I always thought I would be here as a conqueror, instead we are the Earth King's personal guest, here to serve him tea. Destiny is a funny thing."

   "It sure is, Uncle." Zuko replied and looked at me. I smiled at him as he took my hand.

   We got seated inside and waited for the King, I hoped Katara would be with him but I also hoped she wouldn't be.

   "What's taking so long?" Zuko asked.

   "Maybe the Earth King over slept." Iroh replied then Dai Li agents walked in.

   "Somethings not right." Zuko whispered and glanced around.

   "Agreed." I whispered back when the Dai Li had circled us.

   "It's tea time." We heard the familiar female voice.

   "Azula!" Zuko stood up.

   "Have you met the Dai Li? They're earthbenders but they have a killer instinct that's sooo ... firebender!" Azula explained. "I just love it."

   "Did I ever tell you how I got the name, The Dragon of The West?" Iroh asked picking up the tea.

   "I'm not interested in a lengthy anacdote, Uncle." Azula replied examining her nails.

   "It's more of a demonstration really." he said and took a sip of the tea.

   Zuko smiled and grabbed around my waist, we got behind Iroh as he breathed out fire at the Dai Li and Azula.

   Zuko shot a hole in the wall and we ran out into the hall getting shot at by the Dai Li warrior. My mind was still stuck on how Azula even got in, this was supposed to be the safest city in the world. Iroh blasted another hole in the wall but this one led outside, and Iroh jumped. I was getting ready to jump but Zuko stopped.

   "Come on you'll be fine!" Iroh shouted from the bottom.

   "No, I'm tired of running." Zuko said. "Now it's time I thanked, Azula."

   "Yeah I'm sure you'd be able to get it in," I said. "Thanks little sis for trying to get me arrested!" I held his cheek and spoke quickly, I didn't want to fight the bitch who would be ready to kill us in a heartbeat. "Zuko, Love, we gotta jump."

   Love? Why am I so lame?! I mentally punched myself. I was panicking because truth be told I was afraid of his sister.

   "You get down to safety." He said and walked back before he ran.

   I looked down at Iroh then at Zuko's back rolling my eyes. I followed him but he didn't seem to mind. We were face to face with Azula.

   Oh Zuko, why are you this naive? I asked myself and pulled out my water.

   "Ooo look the waterbender. Just like your sister am I right?" She asked. "This must be the girl, Mirai told Mai about."
