During the height of the Cold War between America and the Soviet Union, a new threat is dawning. Mutants, who previously kept to the shadows, are now rising against the society that pushes them down. Led by Sebastian Shaw, the Hellfire Club are bent on starting a horrific nuclear war, certain that it will make them stronger while leaving those without the X-Gene to die and suffer under their wrath.
Thanks to CIA operative Moira MacTaggert, an opposing team is constructed in hopes of saving the world from Shaw's sinister clutch. Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr join forces, recruiting as many remarkable mutants as they can, including Jennifer Howard-Jones, whose excitement to help people overweighs her common sense, leading her into betrayal, adventure, loss and an unbelievable amount of pressure.
